Almost submitted this. What do you think?

The green leaf in the background is brighter and so leads the eyes away from the bird a little too much. Additionally there is an overexposed patch on the beak.

A couple left over, I had a tough decision to make....

I love the vibrant colors. I bet the one you picked is great!

Here's my out-take....too many blown out areas...

My outake is better than my entry but I chased this other bird around for a week and it was going in by hook or by crook.

How would you guys have rated this one????

I went to the zoo for birds and believe it or not, I got only one good shot that I saved from the CF card which I finally submitted. No outtakes. I didn't know finding birds is going to be that difficult for me :O

I would have scored this one (without seeing all other submissions yet) at 6 to start with. I think that the photo is too green. Perhaps a slight desaturation of the green channel would have helped here?

This was my attempt at shooting birds out of the box, or should I say inside?

I couldn't make it work, either a good challenge shot but two lost kids or... - I had to choose to keep the kids.

So, I changed my submition.

more outakes in my collection

A couple of outtakes from one series of birdshots I did. I thought there would have been a lot of similar shots in this challenge, so I went with something else. The sky was actually gray (and raining), but it seems dpcers prefer blue skies...

Ouch....there for a second the thumbnail looked like a pair in need of a support bra on a bad tilt. Glad I look at the larger picture. :)

Here's a couple I had to pass on in favor of my actual submission...

One of the few times where I had trouble picking between two pictures. I think I made the right choice.

My original entry was this - entitled Moorhen and Midges.
The one which I replaced it with is running 5.5 at the moment, what do you think this would have scored?

I decided not to go with this one..going by my score this couldn't have done any worse - I'm developing an allergy to birds:)

High 5's to low 6's would have been my guess.

I would guess about 5.5

Left a comment with the image.

I`m very disappointed that I couldn`t get out and about for this challenge and therefore didn`t submit.. as I really like the subject. On the plus side,I look forward to voting on it.

I did manage a few shots of the birds visiting my garden but nothing I would have considered submitting.
