Wedding Hummingbird Photo
The hummingbird was there for a second then gone. The groom thought it was a bee...

Totally cool, looks like the bird is checking him over before he goes and get married. Great job

He flew up, took a sip out of his flower then left very quickly!

These were taken in a fishermens town in Ecuador and the kids are incharge of cleaning the fish after the catch. These 2 kids got distracted and started looking at the birds and sunset and of course started to play around :)

I didn't know he was going to jump, but because he acted like an outsider and had such a serious face I panned along. When he did jump, I was ready:
Same samurai. The woman appeared quite suddenly. When she appeared in the viewfinder, I clicked:
Some animals, even birds will pose for you. The shots I want usually require a little patience and effort on my part. I've been following herons for more than two years now. I've learnt a lot about them during this time. It has become a little easier to anticipate what they might do and when, precisely, to capture it.
This bird is coming in for a landing, while being distracted by the spectre of an eagle surveying the colony. Since I could not, effectively, include the eagle I hoped for some evidence of his presence in the demeanor of the heron. I think it's there.
Eagles, it seems to me, look spectacular at take-off. This bald eagle is just testing the air:
Being at the right place at the right time usually happens when you're there all the time, day-in, day-out. This, I think, is a decent example of good timing:
All of these images were shot with a relatively slow 10D. I believe, that once you get to know both your subject and your camera, you're timing has to better than that of the guy or gal next to you with his 1D Mark II. I now know that this can be learnt.

When you have a pic in your port you want to post, look at the url of the pic when you open it up...there's an Image ID number at the very end. Write that down. Then go to the forum in which you want to post your pic, and when you are looking at the box where you type your post, there is a row of icons at the top left. Click on the last one, which looks like two windows. Then it will ask for the image ID of the pic you are posting. Enter that number, then click ok. Preview before you post to be sure it is the right picture. I hope this helps! :o)
edit...if it's a pic NOT in your port here, but from another site, there's a whole other way to do it. PM me if you need more help!! :o)

A couple of weeks ago, my friend Rich hit a few chip shots, while I tried to catch the ball coming off the club.

These guys were having so much fun hanging out in my trees today. I had three of them. It was so hot, I guess they were just resting from the Texas heat!

This is one in a million (Of course I didn't take a million shots) but I considered myself lucky getting him while turning to the feeder. I took about 75 shots that day.

Others have no doubt been a bit more fortunate in finding (what is essentially the essence of great photographs) or having luck and timing..but this is just my personal shot!
(it was taken in Miami a few years ago, I had just walked out of a shop with a friend and bent down to tie my shoe..looked up and saw her! our eyes connected as I peered through the barrel..*snap* I released the shutter)
=)
