I was fortunate enough to see the legend Bob Burnquist skate yesterday. Bob, a crowd favorite, showed up toward the end of practice.

He had a good warm up session , but it was obvious
that he was in pain . The announcer confirmed
that Bob was skating against doctors orders. It appeared that he had recently dislocated his right shoulder.
Not one to disappoint the fans, Bob not only skated, but he was going BIG, holdin' nothing back.
During the 2nd heat, Bob was on the deck cheering on the competion
.
On his first run, Bob slammed hard on his injured shoulder with a few seconds left in his run. He still scored very highly because of the amplitude and difficulty of his run.
On his 2nd run Bob was tearin' it up! .
Then it all went bad. Bob lost control on his re-entry, and hit the edge of the gap. It happened so fast it was hard to tell exactly what happened. What was obvious, was that Bob was in serious pain.
Bob was taken off the ramp by medical staff. Like the true professional that he is, he waved to the crowd from the stretcher as he left.
Get well soon Bob. I hope to see you skate healthy some day.

I was at Woodward for 3 days. On Thursday, we got there at 9 am. My friend ane I were the only spectators at that time. Andy Mc Donald and Bucky Lasek were on the ramp practicing. It was so cool. It was like we had our own private phot session. I took 400 + shots and ran out of memry cards before they were done. Sandro Diaz, Rune Gliffburg, Chris Gentry, Pierre-Luc Gagnon, Max DuFour, Anthony Furlong, Lincoln Ueda, Juergan Horrwarth, Jake Brown, Jesse Fritsch, Paul Zitzler, were all there.

Oh, and it was free!

I have a lot of the pictures here- Gravity Games
