I'm photographing a bird feeding her young in my yard. The problem is that when I get the speed set fast the aperture must be larger thus less depth of field. The baby might be in focus bet the larger mother is slightly out. Anyone with advise on this problem plese help me out.

The right exposure is controlled by three things, aperture, shutterspeed and ISO. Higher ISO will make the sensor more sensitive to light allowing for faster shutter speeds with smaller (larger number) apertures.

Put superglue on the bird feeder and bring out the tripod. ;-)

Shoot them. Stuff them. Wait for the right light.

get farther away from the bird feeder and then crop. the farther away you are from the subject the more depth of field you'll get

Raise your ISO, slow down your shutter, close down your aperture.

Situations like this I will bump up the ISO...

Consider using your flash, even in daytime.
