lenkphotos, it's all good. I don't think anybody (well, almost anybody) thinks you did anything with bad intentions.
Of course you would like to sell prints of such a wonderful project! |

There has been no change of decision. It just required a decision which takes some time to make.

I just priced mine the same way Len had his priced. Seems standard and fair enough for me... |
So can we thumb our noses at the FTC and engage in some price-fixing?
I'd have no problem directing people to John's prints and just getting the referrer's 25% commission, but I also think we should all be able to order for ourselves at the base price, and I don't see anyway to do that if they're hosted in someone else's account.
Another possible alternative would be for the admins to allow us to set up a collective "dummy account" to host the images, and to which the listed participants could share access (and so order our own prints at base price). Maybe DPC can collect the "photographer's" share in exchange for the setup, and each photographer would then get an equal chance at royalties via their referrer links. |

Thanks, Mike! This was really meant to be a very positive thread of appreciation for John's role in this, absolutely NOT a backhanded means of advertising. If someone had a question about that, a PM would have been more appropriate.

Why not just let everyone post what they want to post instead of suggesting something complicated?

(26 x 14 mb) + (26 x 9 mb) = excess storage.
I just think a collaborative project may as well continue that way--ideally, one place (here) where they're for sale, one place to drive traffic, everyone shares equally in the proceeds. What I suggested is the closest I could come without more radical thinking and coding.
Are we allowed to resize the image to make smaller prints/other items? Some places won't take an image this big. |

You can do whatever you want with it except modify its content.

That comes to a little over 1/2 GB. I just bought a 120 GB external hard drive for $69. I do think it would be nice if we could all share equally in any profits (..but DON'T think we'll get rich off this :-). But I agree with John: Why complicate it?

I disagree wholeheartedly with this concept and would never be supportive of it. This is not a commune.

Thank you, and thanks for pulling it together when it could have fallen apart. |
