I currently have a Sony, but its not very good, most of the pictures come out blurry even if the camera is on a flat surface. Just wondering if anyone had opinions on which camera brands/models are good:)

Depends what you want to spend and whether you want to stick with the point and shoot style or move up to SLR?

| well ive really just begun photography and dont have that much money to spend on it, since im starting school in the fall so something that would fit into a simple life? |

i'd recommend a Canon A95 for a budget. |
