We'll in my opinion anyway. I've been working on my candid's a lot trying to improve and finally got one that I think is a keeper. Just wanted to share and maybe get some opinions on it. Thanks!

Really nice photo, but over-processed in my opinion. It's your vision though, just not to my taste :)

Nice. I think the picture is beautiful. The composition, light and exposure are very good. It is one that will look splendid on your wall, or someone else's wall.
There seems to be a couple of problems with the pp, as I'm looking at it. Or maybe that was the way it was taken for all I know. There is a line on the top that looks odd and the green plant right next to him on the right, as I'm looking at it, needs to be sharp. What does the original look like? Do the background and wheel have to be soft? Could you use a brush to soften what needs to be changed instead of the method you've used? Imo, it looks like to drastic a change from sharp to soft. I've been wrong a lot, and could be wrong about your pp. I apologize if I am. |

I didn't know what line you were referring to until I went back and looked...had to tip my screen (laptop) to see it....you're referring to right above the wheel, right? My screen isn't the best but that would be something that would need to be fixed....but I have to say I love this picture! :)

Good eye with the line above the wheel.. I didn;t even notice that. Not really sure what it is. I'll have to go back and check it out.
As for the story behind it, yes he was just sitting there. I can;t go into too much detail since it may give away my "Time Capsule" entry.
As far as post processing it was not nearly as complicated as Heida's. I copied the layer, blurred it, adjusted hues as colorized, blended layer "multiply". Then did some curves, cloned out a tree above his head, some Neat Image, USM and crop and resize. Hope that helps a bit.
Time to go back and fix some of those things you guys found! You guys are good! :)
I'll post the original in a bit.

It is beautiful and I think your vision for the final picture is exactly right. Just need to clean up the pp a little. :) Well, and maybe just a little less ni on the man himself. I see I was wrong about the plant, it's naturally oof. |

Beautifully done, I like the PP.
However, I think background compositional lines (the wheel) that cuts through subjects' heads is ALWAYS bad. If you'd stepped slightly to your right this would have been really fantastic. |

I think this photo is excellent. Would even look good in B&W! To me it's not over processed though it is noticeable....but....I think you have done a splendid job!

It seems that most people like the pp, but I don't like it. The original is much better IMO. |
