I don't think so, dude! As much as Mick may like taking pictures of the pretty young girls (ha!) you notice that we did NOT get into the waterfalls unclothed...lol.
Anyways, great shots there Joe and Becky! I really like them, especially Joe's shot:
And Becky's shot:
(it looks like one of mine! lol)
Now I need to edit some of my S. Falls shots...IDK if I got anything good, but we'll see...I need to buy some of those crazy filters Mick was loving!

Thanks Mick, just hanging with you guys I learned a bunch. As you may notice I have no sky in any of my shots. I'm going to look into some filters. This first shot of yours the sky is awesome great detail in the shadows and with the long exposure on the falls very cool shot. |
Thanks Joe! That was my first chance to use some of my new Cokin filters. Of course I'm just learning how to use them. Someone that really knew how to use them probably could have done a much better job. I could have spent the whole day on that one shot, trying different filters and combinations of filters, but I had to try and keep up with you youngsters too. :)
A nice plus with the Cokin filters is that they are relatively cheap when compared to normal screw-on glass filters. Some people say that the resin filters are junk, but I haven't noticed any problems yet. They're more fragile than glass filters, and probably scratch easily, but that just means you need to be careful with them. I keep mine in the hard plastic case that each one comes in. I suspect that people that have had trouble with them probably kept them in a regular filter wallet; perhaps even stacked together where they would rub against each other. Under those conditions, even dust or other tiny particles could cause fine scratches in the surface of the filters. There are also a few companies that make glass filters to fit Cokin holders, but they're much more expensive too. I've heard that Singh-Ray makes some very nice glass filters.

Yah, we might have had a contender for the Nude challenge. It's really a shame that it's so hard to find a hot looking girl that's willing to pose nude in public, and work for free. :)

You could have spent more than one day on that shot! You took so much time up there that Brian didn't even get a chance to get to S Falls. Oh well, he probably wouldn't have wanted to walk all the way up it again. :) |

I must say that I'm appalled at your obvious lack of dedication to the true art of photography! Especially after all that I've done for you and the huge sums of money that I̢۪ve lavished on you... I simply cannot continue working with you under such rigid and harsh conditions. If you keep this attitude, then I̢۪m afraid that I may have to look for another model.

Here are a few more waterfall shots.
Which of these two shots of Lower South Falls is better? Opinions anyone?
Another one of Lower South Falls:

Mick,
No worries on slowing us down! I'm not really sure where the idea came that we were hustling. Maybe we were, I don't know. My "normal" mode of operation is to go on a hike and take the camera to get some shots along the way. It was nice to turn that around a little and have the day be centered around the photography rather than the hiking. I really couldn't have gone to the other falls anyway, because I had left Jeeps in the car :(
Of your two side-by-side shots of the Lower South Falls.. I like the first one. I think I have a preference of seeing some texture in the water -- rather than being too smooth. So that's why I'd lean towards the first one.
I hope we can have another GTG before too long where I'll have more time to get to know folks a little bit. I really enjoyed the day.

You know, I think I like this one best of the two:
Simply because the longer (I'm guessing) exposure makes the water smoother. :)
And this:
Is wonderful! Great colours. I love it.

Yah, it's too bad they didn't allow Jeeps on the trail. I don't know how helpful your Jeeps is, but I sure could have used one of the 4-wheel kind :) FYI, according to the map we got at the park entrance, they do allow dogs on the rim trail and the bike trail.

Thanks! I'm still not sure which one I prefer. I guess I kind of like them both. :)

And finally, two more shots of the Cline sisters. I think that just about does it for my photos. I've got several more that I haven't edited yet, but they're mostly alternate shots of ones I've already posted, or just plain junk. :)
