How are your shots for 'The Corporate World' challenge going?
Yesterday and today I've taken some 320 shots for the challenge. They are all of the same subject but with different setups and backgrounds. I think this is one of the hardest challenge so far. Just wanted to wish you all good luck. |

I concede :) I took 4 photographs and each of them sucks equally. I may post one of them... i may skip the challenge :) |

I am a bit lost also, may rework something done in the past based on feedback for practice. I think I am going to get slammed for it in the comment because it is a similar image (actually a retry of the same thing) however I will look at it as using feedback. Should I bother though?

I got around to shooting some variation of an idea I had... I think it works okay, though it's nothing terribly special. I'll submit it just because... who knows what can happen.

I'm going in to the office today to see if I can get a shot done while no one is there. I'm going to enter for certain this week since with the low number of entries so far, I'm likely to place in the top 100 :) With only 49 entries, I'm almost a shoe in :) |

I'm curious if we are allowed to do that though. I mean if you say its gonna be slammed because it is similar.. then.. hmm does that fit in the "no-no" category?
(from the rules:) "A photograph may only be used in one challenge, even if it is cropped or altered differently to fit another challenge. Duplicate photos will be disqualified."
Just curious..

I'm amazed at how few photos there are going to be this next week. It's probably because everyone's having the same problem we are: Nothing good to take pictures of. I think my picture's creative, but it's certainly not anything special. I entered it only because it was all I had. |

I was planning to use the same subject matter, not the same same photograph altered in a different way. It would not be the same photo. Still not sure if I am going to bother, but I am curious if I am reading the rule right... this is allowed?

I would think that if its of the same object but different everything else is fine, cause well its just different. But as long as its not like, same pic mirror image or something blatantly the same picture.. then its fine.
did that make any sense? ;)

I knew this would be a difficult challenge, and my vacation took me farther away from the corporate world. I used this week to learn how to submit a photo, so a nice step forward for me. Next week I will win:) |

Same here. Yesterday I look over the partition at work at the clock and I thought that would make a great representation for my view of the corporate world. Only I didn't have my camera with me and the office is shut down on the weekends. I don't know if my entry will be viewed as a good representation, but it was all I could come up with. We shall see.... |

That would totally remind me of Office Space!! And i think it would be a good representation, but maybe only those who have worked/ are working in cubicles and such could relate. But I think thats a good idea, try it next week and see what you can make. Make sure you do it at a time where quitting is soon tho ;)

I've read very little about the shots people are contemplating in the forums this week. What little I seen, it sounds like there are a handful of ideas on capturing the "corporate world" (and even that looks to be a struggle). My question is, How many have been able to include something that also represents the effects on society? |

That is one of the hardest things about the challenge. It would be great if somebody had access to the floor of the stock exchange or something along those lines. I am looking forward to seeing how everyone interpreted this week's challenge. I'll bet we have a lot more loose interpretations than we normally do just because it is not an easy challenge.

If I get a chance, I may do that. I think it would be a great shot because the lighting is great in my office and the clock is positioned just right.

I don't know if you could say that my photo shows the effect on society in general. It's more about the corporate attitude towards individuals and how it effects them.

I would say my photo isnt really about anything at all. In fact, I fully expect my lowest score ever :) I may just unsubmit, but we'll see.

I am curious to see how low the average score will be on the winning photos for this challenge. I don't think a low average score for the winners will be of any less value on this challenge due to the difficulty of the topic. But this one just might go down in history.

too bad I cant go to those third world countries to show how badly our american oil companies rape them of there land and destroy there environments and social structures, if anybody does I think those will rate highest. |

Mine is a little loose, but I expect others will be also by the way people are talking. Almost keep pulling mine out, but I told myself I would start doing something every week no matter what since the whole point for me is practice. |

My photo is more about a corporation's effect on society.......(really, an industries effect on society). It's an OK photo......it would have taken a few more run-in's with law enforcement officials to get a better photograph. Dealing with one security guard was enough for me! ;-)
