| elsapo- try to keep in mind that people are culling entries right now, they are making their first swipes and dividing up things below 5 and above 5, if you are in the 6's already, that is a good sign your vote will climb throughout the week. Don't lose hope! |

1. You'd have to be brain dead to not know which entry is yours.
2. You'd also have to be brain dead to give it a low score.
3. People MUST be brain dead because there is no way, AT ALL that your picture is deserving of a 4.8!

I knew better to work a last minute entry after*update* i had decided to skip the challenge. update button addiction got me hard lastnight at 11:45 when i started working the entry i had orginally gave up on. oh well..live and learn..*update*...shoot still the same

| Would like to remind people that just because a photo is pretty or interesting, if it does not meet the High Contrast Challenge you should vote accordingly. I am seeing alot of very well composed and lovely photos, but not all are high contrast. Lets keep the challenge in mind when voting. |

Amen sister. I have just started voting and I am seeing lots of images where it seems the contrast slider was simply pushed way up without any effort made to shoot something with very light highlights and very dark shadows.

The challenge is called high contrast. The description states: "Use high contrast to create impact in your photograph." It does not state the image has to be black and white. It does not state that the contrast must be technique/editing rather than subject.
If all you are looking for is the whitest whites and the blackest blacks, you will miss many great images. Yes, sometimes pretty and/or interesting can be high contrast. I will be keeping the challenge topic in mind while voting but I believe I may have a more general interpretation of the description than many.
Oh, wait, this is a score thread...

I agree. Hoping people would have more of an open mind altho this is DPC and apparently open mindedness isn't for everybody.

Likewise, just because a shot has blown out water reflections and dark midday shadows doesn't make it a great picture, like some examples we saw in the posts previous to the challenge.
