my first attempt at self-portrait. i see the areas that need improvement (shadow under nose, etc.) my husband thinks it looks overexposed, but the colors look pretty true to life (skin, hair, eyes). i think next time i'll try natural light instead of flash.

Or three flashes with difusion screens... blargh... go with the natural light. :) Skin tones do look good to me, but I'd agree, a little over-exposed -- or maybe just the light is too harsh -- or both. but I'm *no* expert. Certainly not!

Rather sad that this photo did not seem to carry favour with a good portion of DPC Neil... I for one gave this a 9, and upon closer scrutiny I should have given it a 10. Kudos on a job well done.

here's one my daughter took of herself. She was just doing some simple poses. Using levels on this one, I dropped out all the highlights until nothing of the background was visible. I thought it looked kinda cool.
