Ive finally got my router up and running. How can I setup everything so that the Mac and PC can see one another on the network?

I have the same issue. I have talked briefly with CompUSA employees and haven't been able to figure it out. |

Ok...
You will need to set them both up on the same address scheme ...
I am assuming that the router has an inside (could be marked "LAN") interface and I also assume that that interface already has an address of 192.168.0.xxx <- where xxx is some number ... am I correct so far ??

by default each router has its own address you can access from any PC on the network. This is how you go into set the addressing up.
if you can find the manual or online docs for the specific model it will tell you how to get to the setup
192.168.0.xxx you can try 192.168.1.1 some are different but usually atart out the same 192.168.xxx.xxx
once inthe set up you can set the admin password, set up the firewall, VPN settings, clone the mac address and stuff like that

Dlinks Default IP is 192.168.0.1 username is Admin and Password is blank.
My first question is do both pc and mac get to the internet? If so the router is passing out IPs (via DHCP) and not much would need to be changed at the router (yet).

If both comps can access the internet, then "sharing" your drives is the remaining issue. I can help with the PC, but I know nothing about Macs.

Home PC Networking
Two methods here:
1) Having the PC access the MAC using AppleShare
2) Having the MAC communicate with the PC using TCP/IP (the way I'd go)
