Just sell some of that gold Mr. Exploration Geologist, and you can have a 1d too. Not that you don't need talent too, but 8fps helps.

I wasn't worried. If they wanna look, go right ahead. If they wanna shake it for me then we got a problem.

Nah, once you get caught doing the nasty in public everything else is of little concern. (and no getting caught didn't stop us)

Bruchen got a very nice shot of a hippo. They were all gone by the time we got there as it was quittin time for the zoo union.

Nice work.

Thanks, dude... I spent quite a bit of time there... They were active today, swimming and eating and putting on a show. The crowd loved them. Just nearby were the elephants and the elephant keeper was there around 2:30. That was fun to watch to and listen to the elephan stories.

On the other hand, when I got to the polar bears they were both sleeping. You guys got good shots of them. Few minutes later it started to rain so I went down to the underwater viewing... Of course the bears weren't there.

Unfortunately, I left my camera on a high ISO from some previous shots. :-( I'm sure someone else got a good shot of this though. ;-)

You know those big binocular stands you put a dollar in to look through for 90 seconds? This is what happens when you try to use one of them as a telephoto lens.

Too bad we didn't meet up. It looks like you hit everything we missed & vice versa. That zoo's a big place, as my feet would tell you right now!

Ya that's too bad. Yes the zoo is one big place. I walked from 11:15 to 5 with a few minutes of break to eat and when it rained. Still some animals I didn't see like the zebra and I didn't do any of the indoor displays which I did last weekend and frustrated that the 100-400mm is at F5.6 at the longest so I didn't even try again today.

More photos from the Zoo...

The best and the worse...

Looks like the group had a lot of fun. Sorry I missed it. We didn't realize that my hubby's exam would be broken into 2 sessions and we had to wait for what seemed like forever. Next GTG I will definately be there. Good news is he aced the exam and will be a certified Pedorthist. More credentials=more money=better camera equipment.

Oh yeah, sorry about the false advertising with my screen name. LOL. It was a nickname from college that kind of stuck.
