The Task:
Creatively photograph a reflecting surface that is not a mirror while keeping your camera out of the shot.
People photographing shadows may be photographing a loose term of the word Reflection (it is stated shadows are reflections).
However - the challenge is to photograph a reflective surface - a shadow is anything but a `surface`.

I guess sometimes techniques can be a little too advanced... ;) The last three commments more or less say they don't see how it was done so somehow it doesn't meet the challenge...

Just because you don't get how the reflection was done shouldn't take away from the shot's score. Objectively going through the shots I fail to get 4.9244. The shot is simple with no distraction. The image and its reflection (no mirror!!) and in focus. arg |

One of my better images but it's taken quite the nosedive. It's going to be a long week (especially I only entered one challenge). Folks, the challenge says reflection so IMHO it should be part of the composition. Like others have said before me, please look at the images carefully :) |

I recovered a bit, I had been as low as the 5.8's. Now it will be a struggle to get over 6 again.

i was at 5.85 on my Personification scores just before turnover and managed to "eeke" out a 6+
I'd say if you're somewhere within 5.9 that should be easy :)
Tuesday is a long way away so I hope I manage to get up there :) |

Apparently, according to the ER doc, I had a small heart attack the day I shot this - about 30 minutes after my entry was taken. So, I hope that the score stays in at least the same range it now is in to make it seem worth it. Now I'll be waiting for my medical to kick in on November first so I can follow up on what ails the old ticker.

Seriously, do take it easy and Here's hoping all is well when you have your medical. Can't you get one earlier than November?
Back to scores - only one comment after 120 votes! These big entries do make it hard for people to comment as well as vote. Sitting on 5.2 - and yes I think it deserves better!!

Pauline - The ER doc really wanted to admit me to the hospital last night, but my medical on this new job won't be in effect until November 1st. I can no way afford the huge bill I would ring up if I let him admit me. So, I prmised I would take an aspirin a day and see a doc as soon as I had coverage. The 4th was the earliest the doc I called could get me in anyhow. For the next 2 weeks I just have to take it easy and not do anything that would cause exertion.
Back to the scores.....I am pleased to be ion the 6 rnge, but had really hoped to hit a 7 on this one. I'm not complaining though....it is doing better than I usually do. |

I got DQ'd...lol. I'm not sure why the date was messed up on my photo. I KNOW the date on my camera was right, and I KNOW that I took it after the challenge was announced, it was actually a couple of days after...
Oh well, I would be sad if it was doing good...but it was only in the low 5's, so I'm not upset. My wide-angle broke into the 6's though...best score ever, so I'm happy. |

Right after I got the notice I checked my camera and the date was still set perfect...
So, I'm not really sure what happened, but I hope it doesn't happen again.

still droping. I don't get it. Except for the quality of the picture (which is not that bad) there is a BIG reflexion, you can't miss it (I have only one comment saying he can't see the reflexion :-(( )
