Comments invited but these are just some snaps from the roof, I had to try it out and first impression is that it is a FANTASTIC lens equal to the Nikon version at a fraction the cost, build quality is better too IMHO the Nikon felt to plastic for my liking.

This was taken with the very nice 80-400VR @ 150mm

cool shots! How did you process the rooftop ones? The coloring is interesting. On the first one, looks like you (un)zoomed from 24 - 12?? Cool effect, did you have a small aperature or how did you maintain focus?

IMO, Pretty great for just playing around! :-)

Yes pretty much manually zooming in and out while the shutter is up the first shot i think is a bit dark but i gave it 5 seconds on f8 i believe as i say i was too excited to get the lens to worry to much about settings...lol Ill be playing again tomorrow, definately the best lens Tokina have made IMHO. a bargain

I got my tokina 12-24 yesterday and havent had time to play with it all that much but test and random images are looking really good. I had the sigma 10-20 last week for a few days and decided to return it for this tokina and I can say with full confidence that I definetely know I made the right decision :-)

edit - typo

I also have the Tokina 12-24 since a few days, and it's impressive! I'll try to post some shots after the weekend, when I've had more time to try it.

Took this one a couple days ago with the same lens. I've had it for awhile but am just starting to use it. So far I'm really impressed with it.

I bought a Quantaray 28-90 f 3.5 macro last week for under $100. Very plesed with it----until I took some longer exposure night shots. Got a few artifacts and had a bit of hazing in some areas. Not saying anything bad about "good deal" lens, but you might think twice before using them on important shoots or shoots that will push it's ability.

I love my Tokina lenses, have never been able to afford the Canons so have a Tokina 100 2.8, 80-400mm and a 20-35mm. Great lenses I am sure you will get much enjoyment out of yours.

Yeh - i Need one of these! around £400 here in the UK so I guess I will have to wait a while and save.

My Tokina 24-200 is built like a tank! so much for so ittle money.
