Love those Kiwis ... happy to be on top of any list, even if it's just a list of the countries not on top of anything!

Reminds me:
Three expectant fathers were in the waiting room at the maternity hospital; a Jamaican, an Australian & a Kiwi. The nurse came in and announced that all three had healthy new babies, but they'd been mixed up in the delivery room, and asked for their help to properly identify the babies. They went in, and in the first crib was a beautiful little black baby with dreadlocks and a cricket bat. "That one's mine,' declared the Aussie. 'Sir,' said the nurse, 'it must be obvious that that baby is the Jamaican.' 'Well, yeah,' replied the Aussie, 'but one of those two little pink buggers is a kiwi, and I'm not taking any chances!'

Meh.
I should be proud to have my country on the top on the list, but I think the survey misses some issues that would make it lower on the list. If you scroll down to the survey table, exactly those issues are not in the survey in my country, for example: "The misuse of public office for private (or political party) gain". That is the most common corruption here... But still... :)

I think you would be better where you are. Zimbabwe is getting a lot worse by the day.

lol Icelanders already own DPC, and now they took the trophy for that too. I'd move there for sure if it weren't so damn cold.

WOW! We are close to Iceland, only 64 positions...
Watch out Icelanders!

:(

lol
Everybody want to beat France.
I didn't know we (I'm french) are so important for you.
I thought France was a little country in Europe(like one of the US state in average) , no more than that.

Yep, and anyway we're unbeatable at petanque. So, there!

Hey ... quit the french-bashing goin' on here or I'm going to change my mind about DPCers being so cool and unbiased open-minded people :)
Not that I'm French really but thought I should stick up for my adopted country now ...
Besides, not everyone beats France at everything and I can prove it - does any other country in the world have at least (and I do mean at least) 6 weeks annual leave? We probably also have the most number of union strikes or demonstrations in a month ;p

I too found it surprising that Oz was that high/low on the list but I guess being bought out fair and square is not really corruption - after all it's not like it's been hidden or anything .....

IMO, when you find that your opinion of something (political, cultural, etc) is way off from reality, you need to rethink where you get your information. :)

Yes, exactly! Anybody who truly believes the USA should be at the bottom of a list like that needs to seriously inform themselves of the world's atrocities right now. I'm not arguing for/against any of the atrocities the USA has committed but people should research all of the things that happen everyday that CNN doesn't give a shit about.

It's hilarious that North Korea didn't even make the list...I guess Kim Jong II forgot to fill out the survey.

Also interesting (but unsurprising) to see the vast difference between Hong Kong and China..."one country, two systems" indeed.

America wasn't at the bottom, just a way down.
