Hey,

I want to get an external flash for my D70. I havent bothered to get one yet, but I'll need one for a job in january. I'm hoping to find something somewhat reasonable. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

You really only have three choices that is compatable with the iTTL of the D70, the Sigma DG-500super, the SB-800, and the SB-600. I have no experience with the sigma, but I've owned several SB-800s & SB-600s. IMO the SB-600 is a much better deal with only slightly less power, smaller size & much lower price. The few features that the SB-800 has over the 600 is either not applicable to the D70 (FP mode) or its something few ever uses (strobe, repeating mode). It does however lack the commander mode, but the D70 will handle that.

I have a SB-600 for sale here on eBay. I also have another one that I plan to list in a day or so. PM if interested.

There are other choices that are i-TTL compatible.
Quantum and Metz.
I have the Metz 54 MZ-4 for the canon (the flash units are the same, there is a 'foot' that is chosen based on the camera make, or the generic foot can be used but you get no TTL). I got mine used from //www.fredmiranda.com for $300 with a lightsphere II (about $450 new for both items).

i'm very interested in the flash. You said you're posting the exact same thing? would you ship to an APO box? Since you're shipping USPS, you dont have to do anything different except fill out a customs form. Are you familiar with what an APO box is?

I'm not familar with APO boxes. I'll ship anywhere as long as its to a confirmed address (if paying with paypal) or with prepaid status.
