I'm looking at adding some new equipment to my bag, but I have a limited budget (as most of us have). So my choice is to get a Speedlite (Canon 430EX) or a prime lens (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8), I usually take an equal amount of pictures indoors versus outdoors. So any thoughts?? |

You will never regret purchasing the 50mm f/1.8. You will use it and love it more than the flash. My opinion, of course. :)

A quality flash system opens whole new photo ops.
Get the flash. :-) |

if i were you, i'd get the speedlite first since it'll help your existing lenses.

Get both!
Well, more specifically, This Flash is more like the 550EX but priced less than the 430EX. So it and the 50 1.8 (gray market saves $5) is only $35 more than the 430 alone. Pack your lunch for a week and you'll save the $35. |

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'll look into the Sigma, and start packing my lunches now. LOL |
