I sent the following to the administation due to my picture being disqualified.
I have just got an email to be told my picture 'Silouette - By Jason Cuddy' is disqualified due to its exposure date. There has been a terrible misunderstanding, I live in the UK and here we write the date Day/Month/Year (and US its Month/Day/Year) I inputted the wrong times for the exposure by accident. Please re-evaluate my disqualification as it was a simple nationality misunderstanding.
Please can some one help me here, I even have the original which will prove I took my picture on the April 3rd 2002 not March 4th 2002.
Thankyou, Jason. |

Jason -- Picture un-disqualified. An issue we weren't aware of and one we'll work to fix. Sorry about the misunderstanding.

I got a bit of a shock there. Thanks for understanding, next time I will remember to type the date correctly!

Thats an excellent point. I'd better keep that in mind before I submit a picture! Far too confusing! LOL |

As an quick fix solution, I'd sugest using date drop downs that default to the current date. That way, there is no question for the submitter what date format they are using.

There does seem to be a lot of submissions that have vanished. Originally 96 submitted - now 89 with Jason's re-entry.

Although I am glad to see my photo is back in the running, I was concerned to see that 'several disqualification recommendations from your fellow photographers and voters' had made a fuss over my exposure date. Maybe there are a lot of fellow photographers out there that are really dead cert on 'winning'.
My first photos were just for fun, but as I enter each new challenge I am tending to get more and more competitive myself. Maybe I should start scrutinising everyone elses photos too?
Jason.

I take it this problem doesn't happen any more?
