I downloaded the free trial.
I have a few questions. My original images were 2MP each. After I used PSP, I saved them then burned them to cd. They are now 344 KB each. What happened?

Also what about 8 bit and 16 bit? The trial has 8 bit.

Other than that I love it!. I have use CorelDraw for years. I think I will get PSP instead of PS. Any comments?

The first question that comes to mind is what format were the original and the 'saved/burned' ones. Could be the default compression setting if jpg.

8bit vs 16bit...some tools are 16 some are still 8 (I don't know the specifics), but I'm guessing you have to start with a 16bit format, or convert to 16bit format.

Now that I have spewed forth a bunch of completely irrelevant words :-) I'll suggest checking out their newsgroup. Some very knowledgable people there. news://cnews.corel.com/corel.PaintShopProX

Try this

Save As,,
on the dialog, open Options and make sure the JPG compression is on the lowest setting (1) Then hit "OK"

The new install might have a higher default value.

Always use SAVE AS, this way, you don't overwrite the original file. I rename mine like this.. original = img0756.jpg or img756.crw I save as ... 756-PP.jpg. This tells me I have post processed the image. If I crop it I add the crop dimensions like 8x10v or 4x6h

Is the Perspective Correction tool legal for Basic?

I suggest using tiff (*.tif) or paint shop pro image (*.psp) for saving. You should only be saving jpeg's as your absolute last step.

I would guess no, because you have to make a selection, and are moving pixels in relation to the whole image (as opposed to leveling a horizon where all pixels are moved by the same relative amount).

Thanks tsheets. But I'd still like to hear an official answer to my question. Sometime before the deadline for Industrial & Collections tommorow night would be nice.
