I've been on dpchallenge for a while now competing a few challenges, and was hoping to get some feedback on this image. Tried a little bit of dodging and burning for the first time. Thanks everybody.

Nice comp and after work. Keep applying the same techniques to your shots and they will turn out better and better.

Thanks for the replies. Phil, how did you achieve that effect? Much better than my attempts.

The first step I did was levels. I made the picture a lot lighter than it was (lighter than its suppose to be). Next I did a little bit of curves. I up the contrast to 5. Burn the wood at 4%, dodge the wood at 3%. I also used the sponge tool to saturate the wood and the sky. Next I sharpen the picture. Finished will Neat Image.

I think its a great photo. Thanks for posting it..!!
