Personally, I just gave up and entered the shot I had originally entered the day they opened the challenge, a shot made just a couple weeks ago. I drove myself crazy reviewing pictures ad nauseum, and for a while had myself convinced there was symbolic value in entering one I shot on Decembr 31st at dawn, but in the end I just spiralled back to the one I had first selected.
My best image of 2005 probably was my disqualified-on-time/date-error dawn shot that ribboned (and de-ribboned) in "High Contrast", but that one's obviously out of the running.
So let 'em roll, and debbil take the hindmost. I'm hoping for a top-100 finish. Anyone have a prediction on how far down the list the Lowest 6.xxxx is gonna finish? I'm guessing at least 75 images finish 6 or higher...

| In the Best of 2004, the very first 6.0 score finished in 158th, kinda scary huh.......considering there were 531 entries in that challenge, a number much lower than the one we will see in this one. |

There are going to be some tired eyes come Monday morning, if we stay up looking at all 689 of them tonight!!! Good thing it's a holiday here!

This must be a record for submissions in any challenge, 690 and still time left!
I was looking at Best of 2004 challenge
Submissions: 531
Highest Score: 7.183
Average Score: 5.629
Lowest Score: 3.822
This time the competition is fierce, my prediction is lots of 5´s votes. Looking forward to seeing some of my favorite photographer´s improvements and skills, just hope I haven´t seen many of them before.

There's always lots of 5's in any challenge. I wasn't here much in 05 so most of the entries will be brand new to me. Only the people in my household have seen my entry. I took it in May and never processed it. Can't wait to see the entries!

705 now and climbing.
Just my opinion...but it seems to me with this many enteries there are a lot of people submitting who don't normally. I think there should have been a qualifier added that you must have entered at least 12 challenges in 2005 to enter. At least that way the best of would be populated with people who participate more.
