Hi guys... I'm just letting you all know that I'm taking this week off, I had some great ideas but I've had THE WORST last week, and I don't have my normal computer, which crashed with all my photos. That is not the worst of it... can't talk about it right now... will post later when I'm not so tired. Good luck all!

thanks Doug, Karen, and Hot... ok... so who can top this bad week... start off on Friday of last week, my laptop dies, along with 4000 photos on it (that I don't have backed up, stupid me) and pretty much my whole life. It may not be retrievable... but we'll have to see... fast forward to Wednesday, being rear ended in my brand new 2003 Honda Accord EX coupe by... a Honda dealer of Ithaca employee in the Honda dealer van. Thursday night, I went to shoot Colgate vs. Cornell Hockey, Cornell is ranked 4th in the country, Colgate is like the lowest in our league... my first away game of Hockey shooting for the Cornell Daily Sun, Cornell loses 2-1 in overtime with a controversial winning goal for Colgate. Ugh. Early Friday morning, 6:20 AM, fire alarm goes off in my room, because I turned on my reading lamp in my sleep which in turn lit my pillow on fire... I wake up with my room and lungs filled with smoke. I go into the hall dazed, and my friends have to run my pillow downstairs and outside and stop it in the snow, then when we're coming back up the stairs, the alarm for the entire building goes off, all 350+ students in my dorm have to evacuate the building, and I am the most unpopular person around. NOT FUN. Then I go back into my room and everything smells... I have to get EVERYTHING washed... even my camera smells whenever I use it. UGH! I haven't slept in my room for the last three nights, and my room smells terrible even though I've had the window open and the fan going all weekend... gosh its cold! Plus after that horrible week I figured everything would get better... unfortunately for me it hasn't yet. Saturday I was loading my car, to go to the dry cleaners and laundromat and I got a $50 parking ticket, then last night I slipped and fell on the ice scraping up my leg and hand. Finally today, I was working on a kind of abstract human in my sculpture class, and I chiseled a little too hard, and broke one of the legs off, at the same time adding a blister to my hand. So these are the reasons I didn't get to enter this week, and I didn't finish voting last week, and didn't get to do any CC. Hopefully the rest of this week will be better! I'm interested in hearing everyone else's worst weeks of their lives... and I'm sorry, this should have gone in rant.. oh well! Take care everyone and as I said before... Good luck this week, and in the coming challenges!

Dear Sir I write this note to you,

To tell you of my plight.

For at the time of writing it,

I'm not a pretty sight.

My body is all black and blue,

My face a deathly grey,

And I write this note to say

Why I am not at work today.

While working on the fourteenth floor,

Some bricks I had to clear.

Tossing them down from such a height,

Was not a good idea.

The foreman was not very pleased,

He is an awkward sod,

And he said I had to cart them

Down the ladders in me hod.

Well clearing all these bricks by hand,

It was so very slow.

So I hoisted up a barrel,

And secured a rope below.

But in my haste to do the job,

I was too blind to see,

That a barrel full of building bricks

Was heavier than me.

And so when I untied the rope,

The barrel fell like lead.

And clinging tightly to the rope,

I started up instead.

I shot up like a rocket,

And to my dismay I found,

That half-way up I met the bloody barrel

Coming down.

The barrel broke my shoulder,

As to the ground it sped.

And when I reached the top,

I banged the pulley with me head.

I clung on tightly numb with shock,

From this almighty blow,

While the barrel spilled out half it's bricks

Some fourteen floors below.

Now when these bricks had fallen,

From the barrel to the floor,

I then out-weighed the barrel,

And so started down once more.

I clung on tightly to the rope,

My body racked with pain,

And half-way down I met

The bloody barrel once again.

The force of this collision,

Half-way down the office block,

Caused multiple abrasions,

And a nasty case of shock.

But I clung on tightly to the rope

As I fell towards the ground,

And I landed on the broken bricks

The barrel had scattered round.

Now as I lay there on the ground,

I thought I'd passed the worst.

But the barrel hit the pulley wheel,

And then the bottom burst.

A shower of bricks rained dowm on me,

I didn't have a hope,

As I lay there bleeding on the ground

I let go the bloody rope.

The barrel now being heavier,

It started down once more.

It landed right across me,

As I lay there on the floor.

It broke three ribs and my left arm,

And I can only say,

That I hope you'll understand

Why I am not at work today.....

On the bright side - cutting the leg of the abstract sculpture will make it really abstract...
