Hello,
I would have liked to entered this in the Wildlife II challenge but I didn't take it during the right time.
Was wondering what people think and how they would have scored it if I had though. Any tips on how to improve the image would be much appreciated!

Nice idea but the poor subject focus really detracts. Perhaps I would not have centered the snail directly in the middle. I like the depth of field but the upper right portion of the photo is so blurred that it also becomes a distraction. I think I would have cropped it tighter and off-center.
I am learning too so take it for what it is worth.

The focus is too soft for my taste but with a little editing I think it would have been a +5 photo IMHO. Anyway I posted here my aproach. Hope you like it :))

The time frame rule puzzles me too. I find it hard to believe that some of the pix submitted were taken during the time frame required. Maybe some people have more time in their schedules than I do. Portfolio stash waiting for dates?? |

thanks guys!
much appreciated!
I tried cropping it various ways but always ended up coming back to having the snail in the middle so the narrow DOF shows up in the brick work....
I know focus is just a tad of on the snail... but then you should have seen the position I was in when I took this... I know... excuses excuses!
I know what to pay attention to next time though!
Cheers,
Ingrid.
