oh my goodness, I've been laying in bed for the past hour sweating, in pain -- something inside my stomach is really wrong. I think I'm starting to shake. I may end up at the hospital here shortly.

I wouldn't wait it out either. Get help. You never know what it could be if you're in that much pain. Better safe than sorry. |

Real men go to the hospital. The real losers are found dead in their home a couple of days later. GET IT CHECKED OUT PRONTO! |

Hospital NOW!
Could be an intestinal blockage. If it hurts from the front to the back it could be pancreases (I had that and it's painful). The sweating is what concerns me the most. I hope you are at the hospital now. Let us know how you are doing. Prayers your way, I hope all is fine.

Ya, get to the hospital! I waited it like you're doing, and it only got worse. I had a ruptured appendix. Your appendix is on your right side, but the pain I had was in the center of my stomach which is fairly common. I got really sick and vomiting so I naturally thought is was some bug. The longer you wait, the worse it becomes if it ruptures. It might not be this, but it's best to get it checked.
I went to the ER after holding out for about 9 hours, and they did some quick tests and took me right in for surgery. The surgery isn't bad at all, mine was all orthoscopic so they did just a couple small incisions. In the hospital for a couple days for observation, then rest at home for 2 weeks.
If you're still here, check out this link:
Appendicitis
Take care and let us know how you're doing.

Try this test. Get up and jump. Or stand up in tip toes and crash down suddenly on your heels. If that hurts like #$% then you most likely have an appendix problem. If your fever lis low - 99-100 - that is an indication of appendisitis. If you start to feel better it could mean that the appendix has ruptured and the pressure is off, but you are in BIG trouble. Isnt that how Houdini and Jum Henson died? |

heh...wow thanks for all the concern.
I was able to fall back asleep...I had this once before and it was the day after I ate this pizza with hot peppers...I should have known better, yesterday I had that pizza again.
Last time, it lasted two days (it didn't keep me up at night or anything). It went away slowly after the initial onset of the cramping.
My stomach does feel a ton better now, although I did call off work...
I'm really not a wuss or anything, I've broken bones and torn tendons and muscles and gotten stitches, this pain was intense last night though.
--
The funny thing is that last night before bed, I was reading the bible (around Dueteronomy 28) where it talks about punishments for disobedience...and then I read some more about repenting and stuff...then prayed before bed and everything...
Maybe God was fixing something inside of me that was bad and it just had to hurt or something...or maybe it was a test of some kind...or quite possibly the cheese on the pizza was just bad and I'm reading too far into things lol.
--
Anyway, thanks a lot for all the support. If it gets worse again, I think I'll definately go to the hospital.

Might have been mild food poisoning. Food poisoning is usually not accompanied by fever, so if you think you had fever, could have been a viral/bacterial infection from whatever you ate. |

consider Gall Bladder....
Sounds like the attacks that I used to have.
A good test will be after you don't 'hurt' anymore...(like today) press on your abdomin where your gallbladder is....
when I had my 'last' attack, well after I was better....the dr touched that area and you had to peel me off the ceiling!

Exactly...might be stones. I'd get it checked out for sure, because the attacks become more frequent and more severe over time, and can be triggered by fatty foods like cheese. If you love pizza, check with the doc. ;) |
