I've been out of the challenges and forums for a few weeks because of a recent trip aboard National Geographic's ship, the MS Endeavour, in the Antarctic. Here are a few of the photos I took. Hope you enjoy them.






Most days the temperature was around freezing. We had rain all one day. We had one day with 45 mph winds. The rest of the time was mostly intermittant overcast. We made Zodiac landings on about a dozen islands and enjoyed kayaking when it was calm enough. Crossing the Drake Passage (to & from the Antarctic Penninsula), we had 30 foot seas breaking over our bow (exciting).

If you ever have the opportunity to do this, I recommend it.

Wow, what a great experience.

Were you on the ship as a paying passenger or as invited guest or as a worker of some sort?

Thanks for the images... reminds me of my trip to Alaska when I was a 17. They are wonderful. Hope you had a great time.

We were paying passengers. It was more expensive than our typical vacation, but like Bear ... it's one of the few places we haven't been and we wanted to fill out our dance card. Worth every penny.
