Is it a good buy? When will it be launched in India? What will be the expected price?
Thanks |

It's likely this will be a good camera. I don't think it is released for sale anywhere yet. |

EDIT: oops, sorry I mistook the LX1 for the L1 (dSLR)
The thing with Panasonic cameras by far, the main negative point would be the noisy sensor. There are very evident noise even in the lowest ISO, so if you could live with that, the camera is not a bad one.

It is in production, you can buy it from BHPhoto right now. Not sure when it'll launch in India, but it should be sometime within the next few months. If you are going to be putting down nearly $500 for this camera, you might want to consider going up to either a Panasonic FZ series camera or even a dSLR. You can pick up a Nikon D50 dSLR with lens for about $550. The FZ series, which has a much bigger zoom lens and manual control, is probably going to cost the same, if not less than, the LX1

Horrible, horrible, horrible noise. But apart from that a nice camera. Check out the dpreview.com review that was published yesterday.
I'd go for a Fuji F11 or F30, but they have friggin XD memory. :(
