Didn't break any - Mavrik: go to the 'your profile' page: that's where you find the (in my case) humbling process of your shot.

Much much more impressed by the standard for this challenge than for despair. Like m this is my first challenge and despair was my first vote.

good luck to all

There were many nice entrys to the "Eggs Challenge" and voting is going to be difficult. Each photo is unique in it's own way. I'd have to say that originality will be a big key in my voting decisions. Good luck to all.

Broken egg, broken egg, light behind an egg, egg in a basket, eggs in a pile, broken egg, broken egg, light behind an egg, broken egg, eggs in a pile...

Originality would be nice.

Mavrik, I like the way you put it so much better.

i tried to be original and it got me a 4.6 :P i have a feeling an "original" photo might not win this one..

By the time I've finished voting on all these eggs I'll need to be de-cholestorolized!

Its all been so relentlessly average this week, Im not sure I can face another 100 votes.

Im not looking forward to next week either, 200 pictures of Bridges Nonmetaphorical.

I think the pure technical challenge of photographing an egg/some eggs well is what's made so many people go for simple images: and sure, it's difficult. I think there are some very beautiful pictures this week, and choosing a favourite isn't going to be easy - though i think I know the one that's stuck in my mind.

And my shot is sitting around 4.5 - going up though, if slowly :-)

I broke 1 and then ate it.

Well, I was here right at the vote start. First vote I got...1!! That bad huh? I think I did a truly original one, and I am at a 4.5, now. Oh wHell. The question is...how do you appeal to the masses (especially here). I get so many contradicting comments (the few I get). ie: Too dark...too light, about the same picture. What?!! And people...please calibrate your monitors. I run Mac and set it for P(ieca)C(rap) "style" so as not to get the "too dark." (Damn PC Users). Anyway...I guess you can't appeal to everyone, all the time. I just want to appeal to some of em, just one time. (C:

Wow People are tough on here. I guess a seminude shot was a little risque for this challenge. Well it was my first and no animal by-products were harmed in the process.

This is only the 2nd time I have entered a photo and the 1st time was a rush job (the day I bought the camera). I did put some thought and effort into my egg entry and currently its being rated about 5.3 or so.
I know there is at least 4 people in this world that like it (LOL).

Yeah - well I'm still sitting at 3.6 and I'm pretty sure it's because my picture is (intentionally) blurry. It doesn't look like stock photography of an egg, so I guess that's the problem. I'll be conventional next time.

You are getting rude here! Have you tried printing your shot to make sure it is as shown on your monitor? And remember, you are first here to get critiques on your pictures. If you can't accept critique, contest and challenge is not for you. Get the most out of every comment. Please yourself first and then please the others as jmsetzler mentioned in his Perfect Picture thread.

Have fun!

guess I forgot the smiley face with the PC statement, so you know that it is in jest. And this is a piece of critique when I offer the idea of setting your monitors...because I have. And my printer is also calibrated...actually the monitor is calibrated to the printer AND another setting calibrated for web viewing. Mainly because I want to see all your pictures as you intend them. Oh yeah. All smiles here. (C:

Yikes! I think I got hit by a big karmic monster. I wasn't sure how to average my votes and just now saw that my last week vote average was like 3.75 - so I guess I deserve the big 3.5 I'm getting! I'll be sure to adjust my totals to make it closer to the group average later...wow I guess I saw lots of 1s and 2s last week!
