| Our family is going to China soon and I would like to spend about $100 for a camera for my 10 yr old daughter. Long battery life is a consideration. Any suggestions? Thanks....... |

| I don't know the market but there are no doubt a lot of nice film P&S that fit that bill. If you want digitial, then maybe maybe you could find something on eBay - If you raise it to $200, I think you would have options like the Canon A510 and alike (probably worth it to save on film processing anyway). |

| I haven't done any research, or anything, but I know that you can get an HP315 for under $100. I used to have that camera. It has decent image quality, and GREAT battery life. (even better if you turn the LCD review creen off). It uses 'AA' batteries, which makes finding emergency power easy, and CF cards... |

| B&H has a used Canon Powershot A410 for $99. It's a very good camera, and a pair of 2300mAh AA batteries will last for about 400 shots. |

| I know a couple people who have the Canon A510 and it takes pretty good pictures. I think I saw it somewhere for about $150 new. It does eat the batteries pretty quick so keep that in mind. |

No batteries necessary. You'll need a meter tho.
