I just finished voting on the "Green" Speed Challenge. Very good on the upper end - congratulations.

How about making this speed voting as well - say 24 or 48 hours? This would give something to look forward to in the week - we would not have to wait until next Monday for results! We worked under pressure - let's put pressure on the voters. Also, it would spread the voting out rather than having three due next Sunday/Monday.

I was just thinking the same thing. I think a "speed vote" continues the pressure. It is a speed challenge. Speed results would be fun!

DPC'ers should rule the world! No problem getting international consensus here! We can teach the UN a thing or two:)

Pennsylvania disagrees on behalf of dialup users who need more time to vote, and photographers who would like their voters to take the time to fully understand their submissions and perhaps even leave comments.

How can we pursue DQ requests in 24-48 hours? We have to allow at least that long for photographers to get us their originals.

Majority rules, eh?

I think it's a great idea, especially since everyone is in agreement. Originally we figured people should have ample time to vote, and didn't want to make everyone rush through voting and commenting.

Terry also brings up a good point about DQ requests... but for the most part the members are pretty good about not doing anything that breaks the rules.

Instead of a week, and instead of 2 days (48hrs) -- how about 3 or 4 days ? This gets the results quicker and also gives us (and you) time to send out and reply to DQ proof requests.

I think the best solution is 3-4 days to vote, as Langdon says

Western North Carolina, though she acknowledges the difficulties PA has mentioned, also likes the idea of speed voting, and she probably has one of the slowest dial ups here (31.2Kbps at the moment, thank you) and can't argue with the notion of taking more time to actually look at the pictures.

A small town in Northern England votes 'Hell Yeah!' for 3-4 days.
