Hi
I want to create a blog for 30 friends of mine who are spread all over world . It is about a project work we plan to do but we do not want want this blog to be part of public directory.

What i means is if i a create a blog with web address www.nowwearefree.blogspot.com than unless some one is aware that such a url address exist no one will view our web blog.

Since it will be hosted on these free blog service problem arises when blog service have this potion of viewing next blog i.e if some one is viewing some one else's blog chances are that when they click view next blog they might see ours.

No secrate stuff will be posted but some stuff that doesnt concern anyone but 30 friends of mine. So just felt if their is a way that we can avoid it being viewd by others.

Basically we are setting goals for each other and the person for whom the goal is being set will give a feed back on their effort.

It is possible just put a subscriber account attached to it so ppl cannot view it unless you give that person permission.

edit to add: You can have a regular www. address just make sure you use the secure feature.

Try to use a CMS called Nucleus, it requires a PHP and SQL, but it's worth it, you can make 30 blogs, or one blog with 30 accounts, very nice.

At Blogger.com under Basic/Settings, you can choose "No" to the "Add your blog to our listings?" question. Choosing "No" means they won't show it in the "Next Blog" feature of Blogger.com, but it's still available on the Internet. It may still show up in Google searches, for instance.

Have you thought about MSN spaces? With MSN spaces, you can make it completely private and non-searchable; however, you need to set permissions for each individual to view the space. Each of your friends would need their own, though, as MSN spaces aren't collaborative to my knowledge. They are free, though, so that's a plus.

If you can find a resonably priced (Microsoft) Sharepoint host service that might be a way to go. Sharepoint is Team Collaboration site with discussion area, files area, and other nifty things that members only can see.

It is highend, we are running a dedicated Sharepoint Server at work where each of our business units have their own area. SharePoint at the top level will become our Intranet.

Google SharePoint.

EDIT:SharePoint Demonstration

Also, I don't know of any Forum software that does not have the Private/Hidden to memebers only Forum Categories and Subs. Host your own forum and create a Private Memember only Catergory/Topic.

I might have got caught in words but if this is project related work with the back and forth that entains, you might want to checkout Basecamp - it has a lot of nice stuff for managing distributed projects.

Thanks everyone.
I might have used bit formal words like project work .

Simply, I and my 30 friends wanted a place on net where we say set targets or goals for us. Over a period of time we all give feedback as to where we have reached so that we can see our growth over a period of time, say from two months to 6 months finally over a year.

For Example one of my friends is planning to open a small cafe in kathmandu while some one else is interested in starting an online business, one is interested in getting admission in MBA school, so we just plan to give advice , share resources and monitor progress
