nah, but it does mean that all my May roses are dead and my poppy's are also shot. Actually I think I've managed to kill every flower I planted this year, so I'll have to go looking for flowers elsewhere. LOL.

Sadly, I do have an advantage because of where I live, but it's balanced by my lack of skill both as a photographer and as a post-processor. But it'll be fun trying :D

Bharath, thumbs only work if the picture is in a portfolio on this site. To link externally, either use the little globe icon, second from right and put the url there, or paste it into the comment window and make sure the box at bottom, "automatically parse urls" is checked :)

Flowers! The good news is that I'm not a Member (yet), so I am relieved of the moral dilemma of having to decide whether or not to vote on a challenge where the subject just does not do it for me. (It's a moral dilemma because I try to vote 100% on all challenges I am eligible to vote for, but my heart probably would not be in it for a flowers challenge).

Good luck to all the floral shooters - I will be interested to see what everyone comes up with.

Dax, would you be willing to do a tutorial on the whole shebang? You'd of course have to caveat it with "not legal for DPChallenge" but I'd love to see how you get those marvelous textured images, from the beginning (how you set up to shoot in the first place) through the post processing.

May I suggest, for those of you who are "deflowered", that you go to your local garden center and ask if you can take pictures of their flowers?
(I did that when I was looking for a flower for my mom (when she was confined to bed) and she wated a particular color.)
You may get lucky and they may let you photo their flowers - although I wouldn't go rearranging displays, if I were you.

Another option is to go to your local grocery store and see if they have bouquets for sale...
