After my trip and the fireworks photos, I think my next investment in camera equipment should probably be a remote shutter release.
I have the Canon 10D. I haven't done my "homework" yet, but what exactly am I looking for? On my old film camera, the remote attached with a cord to the camera. Is that the sort of thing I should look for? Is there a remote for the 10D that is wireless? Any idea of reasonable costs?
Just trying to tap into the knowledge base here as I start considering the options. |

I use one that's wired (I don't think there's a wireless version).
There are two options for the wired version. One has a timer so if you do a lot of shots in bulb you can set it up and not have to keep the button pressed manually.
I believe the manual identifies the exact model numbers for these shutter releases. |

This one is on my wishlist. Kinda pricy though.
or you can go this route
I am sure there is a cordless out there somewhere

Wireless Remote
I have this one and I like it. Its not fancy but it does the job. |

That one doesn't work with the 10D. There's not infrared sensor on the camera for a wireless remote of this type to work from.

Thats the only thing I miss about my 300D! The wireless remote! sigh :-P
