Can you share some of the talented photogs? I want to be sure I'm heading in the right direction.

Also, if I don't believe in god, can I still be a good photographer?

OK, once in a while an image doesn't need any PS to make it work... here's one... must admit, sometimes I just like to shoot what I see...

Ansel Adams realized that human perception and the photographic processes are quite different. Therefore one needs to use a lot of filtration, manipulation and burning and dodging to compensate for the human eye and brain's image processing to create an image on paper that looks natural. (You can read this in his books.) This is why most snapshots don't look like the original scene. Artificial processes and image manipulation are needed to make a photograph look natural."

He's wrong.

Interesting thread....

Even when shooting with film, especially in black and white, there is much that can be done in post processing (the manner in which the film is developed). Photography is in the eye, and what YOU see when a photo is taken. Its seeing eyond the mundane. Just my opinion.

Your Human eyes see the world one way. Other creatures do not.

For example: a dog only sees in black and white. Are you saying that black and white is still out?
