I had a friend many years ago and he used to call me "Lar mon" he said it in a kind of Rastaman(sp) accent. I use it as my online persona. I even write with the name Larmon Van Duzen, almost sounds Europeon.

Used to work hi-tech for years. Just one of dozens of login names memorized over the years.
Can't seem to forget it, so it gets used from time to time. Oh yeah, I used to own a firebird. ;)
Maybe I used to live in Phoenix? Hell, I can't remember. ;)

First initial, last name. I only registered to ask a question in the forums, and didn't expect to be around long or I might have put some thought into it. Within 6 months I was informed at a GTG that I wasn't allowed to change my name because everybody already knew me as scalvert. :-/

Alain (my first name) is usually already taken at most places. So now, I almost all of the time add the _cdn, meaning that I'm Alain from Canada.

When my wife and I were living in London some friends started calling us "Nuzzers" - a short way of saying NZ'ers (New Zealanders). I was in London doing some work at the time I registered for this site so I used it.

alfresco == "fat polack" in polish :(

I'll give you a hint. My user name has nothing to do with Santa Fe. A long time ago, I tried for this name on my email program and got it! Then, I tried on my license plate, and dang, got it again.

That did it. I love my town and use this name a lot. And a lot of 'strangers' call me by my first name.

And here I always thought you were that guy in the beautiful landscape, lovely gal along your side, with a tablecloth spread on the greensward, a picnic hamper to one side, wine glasses at the ready... oh, never mind. The illusion has gone away.

1995 - id software releases Quake, using a separate, open source, module to control the game content. One of the enemies within this game was called a "Vore," it was some sort of four legged spider lookalike that hurled homing purple blobs at you. I had taken quite a liking the idea of this particular enemy and whilst perusing the source code one day, I came across the fact that it was called a "shalrath" not a "vore" in the source. I also liked the feel of this word... it has been my online and gaming alias ever since. Usually I capitalise the s & r... ShalRath

I was born in Germany, and have always been rather voluptuous.

About 23 years ago, my boyfriend (who later became my husband) decided to call me Beetle - as in "a cute thing, made in Germany, with lots of nice curves".

The name stuck; it's a miracle I don't accidentally use it on forms etc :-)

Definitely Zeus' father, and father to all the major Greek Gods. He tried to eat all of his children because they were fated to destroy him, but his wife gave him stones instead. Zeus did end up castrating him. The Roman version of the name is Saturn.

A week before I joined, my boyfriend and I had to put our 9 month old kitty to sleep. His name was Rompy, which is short for "rompedero" meaning "broken" or "fragile" in Spanish. He got that name because his little tail was broken at the tip. We were both broken-hearted about losing him and at the time, he was all I could think about. I thought it would be nice to use his name as my username. I think about him every time I log in! Still miss him loads.
