I'm fine with skipping dinner. I'd rather get the sunset. :-) Perhaps when we head back to Centennial we can accomodate Eric's request for Beer. :-) |

I̢۪m wondering if meeting at 6:30 would be better if you want to have time to get to the Jackson St. Bridge before the sun sets. Going for dinner or beer afterwards is a good idea to kill a little time while waiting for it to get dark. If some of you aren̢۪t up for two trips to the bridge I can go earlier with you Jen and we can meet up with the rest of you at 7:00. |

I'm definitely up for the evening GTG! I agree that I'd rather get the sunset than a dinner/beer, but it's a close one.
p.s. Many thanks Eden for the heads up! |

If anybody is interested to see what there is to shoot at Berry College, there's a few shots in my portfolio.
Berry College
Rex, I think I will pass on the trip to the college. I just stopped by again while visiting a customer in Rome. I am, however, very excited about the night shots in Atlanta. What's the latest now? 6:30 or 7:00?

Bebe I am glad you can join us.
I changed the time to 6 pm. Is that ok with everyone?
I also will not make the Berry College shoot.
Also a reminder I will be emailing the Marta contact this evening and need everyone complete name. If it is not in your profile then pm it to me.
Also what time frame should I give for Garson Deck?

Rex, is anyone invited? My girlfriend (Marina10) and I may be able to drive down from Greenville. |

Since we're meeting at CNN Center, we can probably car pool from there to the bridge, do sunset and then maybe we can head over to the Parking deck say around 8:30-9:00ish, then any other new places if we find any. After that we can head back to CNN/Centennial park and shoot the fountains and such (hopefully it will be working).
Does anyone know if there are time limits for being in the park?
Just an idea. The other route would be to do bridge, Centennial, parking deck. In which case I'm guessing around 10:00-10:30ish for the parking deck? |

Oh sure, make me read something. :-)
I just sent them an email asking, but my guess is that there aren't any hours. I'm sure we'll be okay but I'll let you know what/if I hear back from them. |

I live near DC, but I grew up in Atlanta, and it just so happens I'm going to be there visiting family that weekend. But I don't think I can join you - too busy seeing people I only see a couple times a year.
However, I'll probably be free the afternoon of Sep. 14. Anyone available then to walk around downtown or anywhere MARTA goes?

Hey Jeffrey, We'll be shooting for several hours Saturday night so if it turns out that you might be able to meet up with us you should. It's usually a good time and it looks like there'll be quite a few new faces this time around too. Yay!! Feel free to PM me and I'll give you my cell# and you can call us to find out where we are if you find you have some free time after all.
I probably won't be able to get into Atlanta on the 14th being that I usually have two ankle biters to tend to during the days, but who knows. Stranger things have happened. :-) |

Hi guys! I hope I'm not too late - had been hoping for a GTG in the Southeast US for months!
If its okay, I'd love for my wife & I to come down for a visit. (Yes, my profile is horrible but I did win a brown ribbon one time - does that qualify me for this group LOL.) We definitely want to do the night shots, and hope to visit the college as well (after I re-read the thread to catch all the details ;) )
If anyone 'in charge' of the gathering sees this in time, please reply / contact me? Thanks!!!
Billy & Glenda Ross
PS - If anyone has ideas for a decent hotel nearby, we'd love to spend the night away from home!

I added you Billy.
After tonight no one else can be added as I will e-mail for permission to shoot from a Marta parking deck and am required to give all participants names.
Make sure you are on the list in my first post.
Here is a hotel that we will be taking photos of:
Westin
Get a high floor and we all might just come to the hotel room to shoot from there.
Many more and Jackson Street Bridge will need to be longer. Also Eric have you figured anything out about the top of a building?

Peachtree Plaza (now Westin) was once the tallest hotel in the world; it's right next door to Centennial Park. There's an Omni Hotel inside CNN Center itself (which is why that complex used to be called simply "The Omni"). Also around Centennial Park are a Holiday Inn, an Embassy Suites, a Mariott, and a Hampton Inn. Check out this link (pdf). |

Well, the idea of getting a room at the Westin sounds nice, but expensive - around $180 to start! Anyone feel like donating to the cause? ;) (We may do it anyway & write it off as a business expense LOL)
Seriously, I did call the hotel & was told that photo ops would have to be coordinated through marketing....hmmmmm - it never hurts to ask! Will let you know what I find out.

We'll miss you guys this time Jimmy, but hopefully next time for sure. We have GTG's here quite often. Probably more than we should. :-) |

Oh feel the love. You probably GTG with us more than you do your family. I know I do. I have cousins that live 10 miles down the road and haven't seen them in over 2 years.
