Hi,
I have an old SLR camera that has Pentax K-Type (bayonet) lenses. I would like to know if it is possible to use these with the Canon G6?
I have done alot of looking on the net and cannot find an answer, I would hate to see these go to waste.. can anyone offer any advice or help? I have contacted Lensmate but that doesn't do what I need to.
Thanks

Not really, aside from using them backwards as a macro adapter to make your camera focus closer.
Point and shoot cameras already have a lens to focus the light onto the sensor, any lenses you buy for them will just be converter lenses that go on the end and bend the light to widen or narrow the field of view.
You might look into getting a Pentax DSLR, since you already have at least a couple lenses for it - the Pentax *ist DL is only around $500, and that's with an autofocus kit lens. I'm not sure if you'll need an adapter for the old lenses or not, but it's definitely more likely to work than on a point and shoot camera. |
