I think 40 will throw me into crisis, but I dunno.. If I feel as great as I feel now... Ugh, no, I'll still hate it. 30 was horrible, I dreaded it for a year. Now my BF is a year younger and teases me constanstly about the "almost 40" thing and it really gets me. Hell, I'll deal. I still feel great, feel good about my health, excited about my 2 kids and 2 careers. Life is good. :) OOOOOOOOhh its' just passed midnight.

Hey, I'm 39 1/2 - I'll beat you to 40 by about 18 months. :) You're as young as you feel. In fact, I'm thinking one of my self-portrait titles will be something like "39 on the outside, 3-18 on the inside." I even have a poem I might put in my comments.

I have to go take my Geritol now. And if you know what THAT is, you're old enough. :)

38 years old. I'd kill to be 38 years old again. It's a beautiful age - as are all of them in their own way...at least up to 55. I can't speak to the rest yet. (I remember when 40 was a bummer. Now its a fond memory. Perspective, perspective, perspective. In life and in photography. ;-)

awww, I just read all of your lovely comments!

Yeah, stupid collar. And the yellow was intentional, it just didn't work out how it was supposed.

I've taken 4 pictures with that lens and I'm more in love with it now! Aw geez! Not too bad, it's the older, 600 dollar version. Intentionally!

Don't ask what I was thinking when I came up with this expression, or for that matter the hat position. Day 2 was the Godfather. Day 3 is...over the top (must be all the crazy inspiration you all are dishing out).

Hey, does anyone have tips on getting your face in focus? I've noticed that many shots are a wee bit off, including mine. I've tried focusing on the back of the chair where I'm sitting, but I guess with the angle downward, and the relative closeups I've taken so far, it's just enough to push it away from being sharp.

I always have problems getting my eyes sharply focused. I usually take a straight back chair (dining room type) and turn it around and focus on the top edge of the chair back. Then, while my camera is on self-timer I move to a spot where the back is (or was, if I move the chair away) and position my eyes over where the chair back is/was. My Day 3 photo was done that way in front of a white sheet hanging in my living room (great photo studio, huh?).

I would be interested to find out how others with more experience do it.
