Hey,
I'm still here and still keeping up with the challenge - if not with the posting of images and commenting!
I'm really getting pretty bored of seeing pictures of myself and feeling very narcissistic about the whole challenge - having said that I'm also learning lots and enjoying seeing everyone elses work!
Here is my day ten
and my outtakes from this shoot

For anyone who's interested in trying to get a cross processed effect, this is where I learned it from. There a are 3 videos that step you through the entire process of editing a file from start to finish and include some other ps tools that you may not be familiar with, which you can add to your skills. Very good explanations throughout and you can even download the photo to work along with the videos. It even steps you through how to save the cross processing effect as an action so you can use it later on other photos by simply running the action.
My day 3 entry used a simpler cross processing method, but I found this one just a few days ago and I think it is much better. Give it a try and see what you can come up with, even if you don't use it in this challenge.
If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. Good luck! |

Thanks for the info! Now to find a shot I can cross process...
(I keep thinking it's cross-dress, which makes me think of JP in his curtain with the black socks...) |

Day 12 - Can't seem to keep up! :(
Well, for me this 30 day SP challenge has been a real eye opener. I've learnt 2 things though. 1 is that to get to know photoshop you have to play with it and experiment. 2 is that our tripod sucks and is a piece of crap. We need to buy a new one! ;)

Well I am now behind one day and I need to take today's. My reason is I have actually been getting paid this weekend to be a photographer. LOL What are they thinking? :-P
I looked through the images you all have put up. MAN AWESOME WORK! I am gonna have to kick it into high gear to match the creativity from this weekend. Love all of the work.
I have to shoot some more for other people today but I will be back tonight to comment and post. Hope everybody is having a great weekend. Or Monday if you are on the other side of the world. ;-)
And Ken you are killing me with your work. I look forward everyday to see what is on ART'S mind. I literally laugh out loud. Especially this morning when I saw the plane. AWESOME!!!
I missed you all this weekend and I see I missed a little drama ... oh well. See you tonight!

Day 14! I'm starting to run out of easy ideas.... This one took a couple of hours goofing before I hit on an idea that worked for me.

Hey Cindi, think of lyrics from your favorite songs and see what kind of ideas you can come up with...I find a lot stuff in one liners from songs. |

Day 13 - They Might be Giants...
That and the Chargers game is about to begin. I like big angles... Cam on tripod in it's lowest setting...the Tammy 11-18mm did a pretty good job. Lot's of light, (2) Big Lots! Clamp lights with floods and natural light coming in the winder. I like how the wife has that oh no he is taking pictures of himself again look.
And then there was the screw up that came out somewhat interesting...I forgot to set the cam to timer mode.

My client is an hour late (she called, problems with the hairdresser), so I had a little bit of time to shoot... Nothing fancy, but I like the symbolism, it matches my mood today. :/ |

[jp's technique]
Bonus - my focus aid. Just here to share how I'm getting the focus. Depending on the set up I'll AF on this then turn to manual focus (thus negating AF when shooting). In the case of the blinding light I left AF on since my big fat head took up a majority of the comp, there was no way focus was coming off me.
I like the old tripod because it's very light and, being adjustable, I can quite easily get the head to where my head will be (or at least should be).
