Day twelve. Looks like I am a day behind again. I will catch up tonight.
Going to clean my sensor now.

Bonus - my focus aid. Just here to share how I'm getting the focus. Depending on the set up I'll AF on this then turn to manual focus (thus negating AF when shooting). In the case of the blinding light I left AF on since my big fat head took up a majority of the comp, there was no way focus was coming off me.
I like the old tripod because it's very light and, being adjustable, I can quite easily get the head to where my head will be (or at least should be).

I use an old tripod as my focus aid as well, except I use manual focus for the entire process. I have a hard time using AF because of my limited lighting situation, and the camera often has to hunt for something to focus on, usually with poor results. |

Crap! I like different faces for different things. I am actually working with another member at the moment on a secret SP to be revealed soon. I look at people in ways different to others and I feel your face would be awesome for portraits. Similiar to my partners (Ricco) face....he knows I love photographing him because of the detail in his face. Awesome!

She's working with me on a face-less portrait, because my face doesn't deserve to be in them. It's also pretty much bodiless, because my body is worse than my face. I think my hip bone is still good enough to shoot though. ;P

And, today is a sad, sad day. My last day with the D70...back to the Gateway tomorrow.

Hahahaha...I seriously doubt you know who it is. And as for the D70 going home...I think it is time to go and get a Canon!!

Just so you know Judi some states don't require a plate here in the US. But I am not sure about Canada.

Cindi's comment on my latest SP:

Cool image, Deb. It suits you well. My only suggestions would be for you to take a few steps away from the backdrop so it will fall out of focus - about 5-6 feet should do it.
My response:
Heh! Then I'd be right up against the camera... :-) Small room I'm working in. I'd use the garage but it's damn hot out there and the light isn't nicely diffused by any blinds. And the neighbors would really start to wonder....
Just thought I'd share. :-)
I'll get through today's postings here in a bit. Need to download cards first. I was supposed to play golf this afternoon but the radar and the forecast both promised badly needed rain.... which of course completely dissipated before reaching my house. Sigh. But I did get to play with the camera, so that was nice. |

LOL Totally been there! My first "studio" was about 1/4 of my family room. :)

Deb's less successful technique is similar, but I have only the one ghetto tripod (with electrical tape!), so I position myself where I want to be, more or less, then focus on the tripod, then return the camera to the tripod and myself to the estimated position.... |

I'm still dealing with that. That's why I do mostly location shooting.

For those wondering, Bruce Springsteen wrote Blinded by the light, Manfred Mann recorded the more popular version.
Have you smelled your pennywhistle today? |

You know it's really too bad we all don't live a lot closer. Or in the same hemisphere, even. It would be such a kick to get everyone together at the end of this thing, wouldn't it? |

Or folks are desperately trying to come up with something halfway decent for "Seed" because they didn't enter anything at ALL for the past week or so and are suffering from update-button-complain-about-scores withdrawl.
That could just be me, though. |
