I adore my dad, he raised my & my sis since I was 9 months old. I'll serve him breakfast, but she might accidently get the rat poison! :P

I know people like your mom, Judy. Well, right now my 17 year old is like that, but that's a teen thing. They drive me INSANE. I just want to scream - IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU!!!!

liver tastes like crap.

I hate liver. I hate brussel sprouts.

What if we send all the liver and brussel sprouts to the hungry in some far off country? I would not care.

Did you consider the possibility that she was just trying to share what is likely the only common point of interest (other than your Dad) that you two share -- photography?

I call my mom/dad every Sunday morning. I HAVE to allow minimum 1 hour to hear the weeks updates. Yeah, after the 1st 1/2 hour I feel like throwing the phone out the window....Do you know what your sister did? Do you know what your father did? Do you know what the cats are doing right now? Ummmmm, no, but I'll bet you'll tell me :( Anyway, it may drive me nuts now, but I know I'll miss it when their gone.
Cindi, you can always move further away so it's not that easy for them to just 'drop in'.......Denver's a nice place ;)

Yes, I was well aware of that fact, which is why I didn't ask her to shut up after 2 minutes. I get that she's trying to make an effort here, but the history is ugly. Before she would give my dad a divorce 2 years ago she demanded a huge sum of money. Didn't win a settlement in the courts, she litterally refused to sign a non-contested divorce agreement until he wrote her a big check. Now the money is gone & she's back. I'm not stupid. Anyway - I tried hard to be a big girl and entertained her all evening - for his sake. I'd do anything for him, but I may not like it!

When I was a kid my dad loved fried spam. Seems like he made it every night. Sis and I learned to cook early out of self-preservation. I hate spam.

Self preservation is good especially when parents make you try new things.

My kids remind me how my mom was with new things.

I like spam with pineapple.

I don't like mayonaise, usually.

I hate liver.

Night Night~~

My son is now working at a club and he gets home late and I try to sleep but mostly I jump up out of bed cause it's 3 a.m. and he's not here yet. At least he's making money but I hate his hours. UGH After they close at 2 a.m. then they have to clean up and when do they have a freaking staff meeting? After they shut down on Saturday nights. AUGHHHHHHH Oh and when he does get home, I can say "do you know how that made ME feel?" ha ha just kidding.

Cindi - mixing the rat poison yet?

I have Oleander growing in my back yard ;)

Former step-mummy needs flowers with her breakfast!

Ugh, I get what you mean about the late hours, Judy. My oldest works now and I HATE when she gets home from work later than I would let her out on a date night.

Yeah she does. Ask her if she's familiar with the latest "natural plant extracts" made into tea. :^O

I'm so bad. I'm going to hell and I'll have a brass engraved name plate.

Oh and while we are ranting. Get this:

My 6th grader was having some trouble in middle school. I hear from a teacher and her direct quote was "well, I can't teach him to be responsible." If she said it once, she said it about 20 times during the conversation. I finally got so fed up that I just nicely closed the conversation and hung up. But what REALLY pissed me off was that I complained to the principal, the asst. principal in charge of 6th grade, and his counselor in three separate emails. AND I HEARD BACK FROM NONE OF THEM. Zip, nada, zero. I wrote his French teacher, and she got back to me directly. The science teacher - same thing. But the higher ups can't even bother to answer a flippin email? I'm still livid. Sure I could have called, but I wanted to state my case in written form and get a response. I got the big nutt'n. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ha! I don't even get an answer when I call my kids' teachers, I only get response when I GO; look 'em in the eye; give 'em my beef. Then they're amazingly accomodating and understanding. Otherwise they're flippin robots with "appropriate" answers or nothing at all. Oh wait - This isn't about me! heheeee

The teachers are so stuck in all of the BS of the bureaucracy now. They have this meeting and this form and this standrardized this and this benchmark that. I'd think it would suck for them as well. I remember when the teacher was out there in her dress playing kickball with us. Now they sit on a bench during recess and work on paperwork, or talk amongst themselves.

OK, my last rant of the day:

I hate it when I'm not tired, but its getting late and I know I should sleep or feel bad tomorrow and maybe yell at unwelcome house guests.... but hey.... maybe 10 more minutes! lol
10/15/2006 01:52:33 AM · #50
Wow...these last few posts surprised me. I am constantly getting phone calls both early in the morning and at night by my childrens teachers for whatever reason (all good). I see the teachers playing kick ball and other activites during lunch breaks. The principal knows every child by name and their parents...and has no hesitation to call out to me down the street...he even served me twice yesterday behind the bar. He dresses up on dressup days...and visits the classes regularly...even to take over the class to give the teachers a break. All the teachers know me by name and stop to talk whenever they see me.

I couldn't ask for a better school.
