I wish our schools were still like that, Judi. In the rural areas they are, but suburbian and city schools are like government institutions. And every state gets to set its own educational guidelines so if you move from one state to another your kid might have to retake classes or have classes that they took never count. It sucks.

here's a rant for ya:

I'm staying at an extended stay hotel until I close on the house (yeah my offer was accepted on the new lone yesterday) and I have total morons up above me. The folks in the room ove rmine can't just walk - no they gotta stomp their damn feet as they walk. It sounds like thunder over head. Then a couple doors down are some older kids...who feel it's just fine to race motorized cars up and down the damn hallway, letting them bang into other folks doors, which sets off the dogs in any room that has one (or in my case 4). Why do people have to be so damn inconsiderate! It's going on 11pm here right now and the damn kids are out in the hallway still. errrrrr

I am soooooo happy the house I am buying is vacant, and that the closing may be able to get expedited. I hate living in the city, and even more so with rude people.

ahhh - feel better now

[rant]
As you know, my mom died suddenly 3 weeks ago.
It's soooooo hard sifting through the remains of 87 years...
So painful tossing into the garbage things that were special to her, but to her alone, like old greeting cards...
Hard trying to decide which family members would most appreciate having certain things...

One consolation is knowing that a lot of her stuff will now go to help others, such as all the medical supplies, stationery and tools that will go overseas via the Compassionate Workshop, the bed that will go to the women's shelter, clothes to Hospice thrift shop....

I whined about having, more and more, to become my mother's mother...
now I have no mother.
[/rant]

edit cuz I can't type

Hey Bee, I didn't know. Very sorry to hear and I can imagine how hard that is going through her stuff. I have a TON of stuff that is only valuable to me and I often think about what is going to happen to it when I'm gone. I can imagine it being discarded without a thought. Kinda hurts to think about. Oh well, you can't take it with you. Although I may take pics of everything and be buried with a whole bunch of photo CDs. ;-)

My condolences and I hope I live to be 87.

Cindi - what's your favorite food?

Growing up with a mom whose parents were from Louisiana and Mississipi and she being raised in Texas, I like all the "good ol' " stuff but try not to prepare it. Not always healthy, but I do love all fruits and veggies. With the varied schedules of my kids and hubby, though, I don't cook that much. Nobody here to eat it.

But today: stuffed bell peppers. If you don't like the peppers, the stuff inside is good (ground beef, tomatoes, rice, seasoning)

I don't have anything to rant about yet today. But wait..........

My rant is a question.

Why do people look for the negative first?

The is so much that is positive and it is much more fun to look for then the negative. But yet people go right to the negative and a lot of time stay there. Sad and so limiting of our existence.

By looking for only negative you miss so many great things about life.

Buck up humans! Smile, smell the roses, listen to kids laugh and while you are at it join in the laughter. I think I am going to go tell some one a joke right now.

ETA: This was a general rant. Cuz some people in my life don't get it.

My Rant is also a Question, why does Fox always air The Simpson's Halloween Special (Treehouse of Horror) after Halloween?????

Wouldn't it make more sense to air it earlier..

Well, there are positives that go with my last post, but this IS a rant thread, after all! :)

I don't have a rant right now, but I'm curious about all the people that said so-and-so food tasted like crap.

How do they know what CRAP tastes like?!?!?!?

Sniff...

You had dinner and didn't invite me? Sniff.....

And though it's not a rant, and not even rant related - remind me why I want to work in tiff.

My stuffed bell peppers were good. Deb - I'd have called you, but I didn't have enough. ;~D

Eh, I'm not big on peppers, but I'm betting they were good. I did takeout on the way home from the mall, where I again spent too much money. But what else to do when it rains, eh?

Mondays really suck.

Tuesdays get better.

Wednesday....why is there an "n" in this day?

Thursday is payday, that is a good day.

Friday is a partial weekend day.

Saturday is cut loose, catch up, and do errands day.

Sunday is nap day.

Then there is Monday.

Mondays taste like crap, and suck at the same time.
