Umm...I think the highlights are blown out here. Hehe...I kid.

Oh, and I'm four from the left. Not Brent.

Wasn't looking at the pic as I typed. Tried to memorize. Sorry! It's fixed now!

Sheesh, look at all those tripods. You guys are sooooo serious!

Ok, I'll bite with the first real picture.

As we discussed, honest critiques are welcomed.

Want to talk about serious, the guy Ben on the left had an 80lb pack on his back of photography gear. I was worried he was going to fall into the gorge.

They're almost lined up from tallest to shortest... tripod.

LOL!

Here are my favorites from the day. I had a great time shooting with everyone and can't wait to see what the rest of you got.

Just got back to NY. As I was driving I had an idea: How about each person posts 3 of their best images that you took during GTG, then EVERYONE who attended GTG have to comment on each one of them.
Yes? No? Maybe?

Oh, wow. Now that's what I remember upstate New York looking like this time of year. Nice work, odysseyF22 Lovely colors and composition. Er, and yes, lovely subject matter.

I've put some of my pics on my website here. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots!

Also, I think we should thank Jen for suggesting and organising the day - good job!

I love this thread. It's awesome seeing what other people do. I just ordered an Eye-One 2 so I won't be posting images until that gets here and I can get my color right. It's currently so far off I can't effectively process.

In any case, Nikolai, what aperture did you use for most of the pics in buttermilk and treman?

Also, are you open to constructive critiques on images?
10/16/2006 10:59:17 AM · #15
Actually, is everyone open to constructive critiques? I know I am, I just want to make sure no one gets offended by anything that I may say.

Critique the hell out of it. I'm always open.

My apeture was around f11. Also I used ND filter to blur the water even more.

Ditto for me. I shot everything at F/14 or F/16, with a +6 ND. Good, bad, or ugly, I'd love to hear it. And I'll be back to leave some comments soon.

Thanks Jen for organising the GTG! It was great meeting everyone although I was not able to stay for long!

Here's the second group photo we took at Lucifer falls in Treman park.

This is only part of the photo of course--I included the whole of the background with my wide angle lens. I like the whole context of the shot, but it's too hard to preserve the faces when keeping more of the context. So I'll have to post a link to a bigger version.

I'll post my pictures off site later. I need to pick out shots I may use in challenges before posting to at least try to preserve anonymity as best I can.

One more.

Could someone please verify how the colors look on the two shots I've linked to in this thread? I just realized that I haven't reprofiled my monitor since having to reinstall Windows.

I can now finally post this one...

Did you guys recognize it in the Morning challenge?

Thanks again Jen for organizing. I had a great time.

OK, I cheated on this one and went back the next weekend after all the rain to get this.
