Honestly if the D80 had been out last May, I probably would have gone Nikon.

AMEN BROTHER!!!!! I simply can't fathom that an industry that's been using shutters for a century can't figure out how to mount one right behind the lens that closes when the lens is unmounted and opens when installed. That would certainly reduce the amount of dust in the body tremendously. And an industry that's been using film for over a century can't figure out how to mount a small roll of clear "film" in the back of the camera, covering the sensor, that can be advanced when sensor boogers build up.
Man you're preaching to the choir.

Because some lenses stick very far back into the mirror chamber. There is no room for another set of curtains.

Umm, your gonna have to explain a bit. The 5D sensor is 36x24mm. The 20D sensor is 22.5x15mm.

I think he means the sensors have the same density, only the 5D sensor is phyically larger.

Right?

See //www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos5d/page12.asp

The 5D's pixel pitch is an 8.2 um square, the 20D's is a 6.4 um square.
The 5D pixel is 67.24 square um while the 20D pixel is 40.96 square um.
(The 5D pixel has 1.6 times the area of the 20D.)

I think the issue, is exactly that...they've been used to film for decades. It's been a non-issue. They've never really given it much thought and it's outside of their conceptual norm.

I'm wondering what's next after the 5D?

Sorry guys, I didnt mean actually the same size. yes teh sensor is larger in the 5D...

What I meant was this. If you've been using a 1.6 crop the entire time, you become used to having that "extra zoom"

When you switch to the 5D, you end up cropping the image most times, which then leads to you cutting out MP... Just trust me! haha

...then you are using the wrong focal length..
