I have been playing with a couple of photos but I've reached the end of my abilities with Paint Shop Pro 7.

I have two images with very different backgrounds. I want to put them together to make a single image. I want the main photo to be my son now, with a small image of him from 10 years ago in the corner. I don't know how to make it look like something other than one photo pasted into the corner of another photo.

Can anyone give me any hints on how to blend the backgrounds or something so it looks decent?

Thanks!
Mark

I would try cropping out the background of the younger son photo. Then pasting just him in the newer photo.

Could you give us an example of a type of image you want it to finish up like? That might trigger some thouights on how best to accomplish it.

OK... I figured it out with the help of tutorial on the JASC site. It's not done yet, but this is something like I wanted to do.

For the final, I'd do it on a dark background instead of the white, and feather more of the edge of each photo. I'll probably re-shoot the new picture of him too and get rid of the house in the background.

I tried to crop him out of the old photo, but I'm just not steady enough to trace that well. The background was so busy that if I missed anything, I got white lines coming out of his head or wherever.

Any opinions on how it looks or suggestions for improvement beyound what I said above?
