heehee I have a bunch!
So, for Halloween this year, my husband and I went as The Joker and his favorite gal Harley Quinn to the local radio station Halloween party. Not too many people knew who I was... but those that did, said I was DEAD on! Which of course made me feel good! Even those who didn't know who good ol Harl's was, said my "jester" was amazing!
I couldn't go through all the trouble and spend all that money just to wear it one night.... so, I dressed up again and handed out candy to all the Trick-or-Treaters. Afterwards, I headed down to the studio and shot for over an hour. I had so much fun being Harley... now I see why some people really like Cosplay! I wish I could be her more often! haha
So, here are my favorites from my "shoot"! I had alot of fun!
It was so hard to choose and I may have done better with another entry.... but still... I had alot of fun and 26th place isn't too bad! ;)
Thanks for all the votes guys!
*edited to add - I have been dying all week to show these off! Esp in the show your costume thread! So... here is my costume! haha*

I think this is an awesome costume - Harley was always my fav from the 'toons. Though I think of her in often quite 'gangly' poses. Legs and arms all over the place.

Not really an outtake, just one I shot of the horse in that same session.
Here's an outtake... I almost whish I had used this one instead, as I like the interaction between the babies

My entry
Outtake
I liked the outtake, but I thought the entry enbraced the landscape orientation better. Looking at the top 20, I shouldn't have been so concerned about that.
A lot of the entries look more like a landscape crop rather than using landscape as a element.
Happy with the score though.

I'm gonna second what David said. Great portraits in the Top 20, not many were enhanced by the landscape orientation though.

I'm kinda thinking the top 3 wouuld all have been better suited for square crops :-)

I gave you a 9, it was one of my favourites, your outtake is very nice but your entry is much better imo. |

Thanks! I like the lighting and the "Mona Lisa smile" on the outtake more than on my entry. The really amazing element is the subject. She is a student of my wife and just the prettiest little girl. Her mother was thrilled when I asked if I could take her phot for the challenge.

This was an alternatve crop to my submission I really liked the door though so kept it. I am not any good at choosing my own shots, wish I had someone I could run them by with before entering challanges. |

The goofy smile is great - IMO a better choice :(

Original:
Looking back, I really should've entered a colour or a sepia version.
Colour
Sepia
Half-desaturated
I think the greyscale version makes it a bit too dull for such a lively, young subject. What do you guys think?
*Oh yeah, forgot to add that I didn't crop it this time :)

to me, the jedi pic was more fun... perhaps the more serious photo would have gotten higher votes, but then it's not always about the votes, is it?
