Does "water" include the parasite infested pond scum which comes out of our taps, or only the bottled stuff?

I guess the thing is it has to not look like water - what it actually is is of course up to you.

I think the non water thing is to keep us from shooting landscapes with water in them. This challenge will likely warrant 99% studio shots. I already have a few ideas.

B***** typical!
We're due some reasonable weather over the next few days after 2 weeks of seemingly non stop rain and we get a challenge banning us from going outside. (Please excuse the *slight* exageration ; ) )
It's a conspiracy I tell ya!
LOL.

How deep are you prepared to dig?

I know mud is dirt mixed with water but is it still water? I got lots of mud just oozing down over my patio at the moment...is it considered water?
05/28/2003 09:15:06 AM · #15
I don't know about mud, but glass is a liquid at room temperature.
05/28/2003 09:20:11 AM · #16
no wonder my glasses keep disappearing!!
05/28/2003 09:27:49 AM · #17
No, that's because they're transparent - they don't actually disappear, you just can't see them.

oh, did I misunderstand something?

And bod - since when has shooting indoors been a problem for you? :-)

I think it would be great if we didn't start naming out ideas for this challenge... in case someone had a really neat idea... and it was used as an example here and 3 other people decided to use it...

I personally would not like if someone spelled out my idea so 5 other people could copy it...

It increase the competition for sure, but if someone is wise enough to have thought of it and posted in the forums, that also means the idea is a common one where you are just another person who have thought of it. I like brain-storming sessions and then decide how I can use one idea and make it truly "mine"

Unless you were planning on digging for magma, making mud, looking for stained glass, or taking shots of water (which I think WILL CLEARLY NOT MEET THE CHALLENGE), I think your idea is safe.

Since there are flowers/cute furry animals/children/a combination of all three, in every challenge, is it safe to assume that some DPC'ers will be getting their blenders out for this challenge?

Just a thought.

Sorry I even said such a thing. Obviously the people that read this misinterpreted what i was trying to say. Forget it

Where the heck did you come up with that?

Maybe what he/she means is that many of the photos can be found in STUDIO books? (i.e. how-to books that deal with lighting and studio shots) For example, the suspended jelly beans with steel rods has been done in many studio-related photography books (one i saw was a suspended two pieces of lemons as if it was dropped from a cupboard)

That's one example, but she collectively grouped everything on DPC by saying '100%'. She says that there are no photos here that are purely original thought.
