I recently switched to a new Canon S3 IS camera and discovered that neither PhotoShop Elements 5.0 or PS-CS2 can read the ISO Settings. Oddly enough, PhotoShop Elements and CS2, ONLY works correctly with the Canon 350D Rebel.
Is anybody else using any version of PhotoShop with any Canon camera (other than the 350D) that is able to read the ISO Settings correctly?
I have downloaded sample images from www.dpreview/gallery for 12 different Canon cameras, and PhotoShop Elements or CS2 cannot read the ISO information for any of them. Naturally, Adobe says it a problem with Canon, and Canon says it's a problem with Adobe.
P.S. The FREE software from Canon (ZoomBrower XT)can read any Canon camera data correctly. Go figure. |

I have the 300d, the 20d, and the S3. I know I don't have any problems with the 300d or the 20d, but I just checked and sure enough there is no ISO listed for the S3's pics.

I'm using PSE 4.0 with the Rebel XTi(400D) and my G5 I haven't seen any problems reading ISO from either of them.
I had to download a patch to view the XTi RAW files but other than that I've had no problems.
I'm planning to upgrade to PSE 5.0. Maybe I should wait?

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Looks like it is an isolated problem with certain Canon cameras and PhotoShop. |

Yes, I've used both CS2 and Photoshop Elements with my Canon Powershot 5. |

I read the EXIF with IrfanView which "sees" the ISO values, but with "other" numbers; here is a table as IrfanView reads them:
ISO Values in EXIF as read by IrfanView: Canon S3 IS
16464 = ISO 80
16484 = ISO 100
16584 = ISO 200
16784 = ISO 400
17184 = ISO 800
AUTO = ISO AUTO (actual value unknown)
14 = ISO HI (Hi Auto) |
