Hard to figure the bias here towards Dogs. I have both cats and Dogs and as everyone knows Dogs respond well to either or both food and command. Tell them to sit and stay they will.........Cats respond to neither unless they want to......Much harder to photograph |

I came home from work, clicked the update button walked over kicked the cat for being a poor model(it must be her fault right?). Turned off scores and found something to keep myself busy.

Hmm... I really thought the challenge would go to the dogs - easier to work with, generally more expressive, etc. - but my two top picks are cats... Of course, it probably doesn't help that I'm a cat person.

He never met Bandit!
Unfortunately he passed away a few months ago. Out of respect I didn't enter the 2nd Pet Portrait with any of my other family members.

Heheh, does it mean your score is so bad you are hiding from people who might start throwing things at you? Or so good and you're being coy about it? |

Yes, jerseyjim, I agree. It's necessary to take a break every 50 or so images just to stop vote creep. "but this is at least as cute as that one, and maybe more so...and I gave that one a ...so this one should be higher!"
I've got 210 votes in out of 377 at last count. And what a pleasure it is to look at each entry.
DPCers sure do love their animals and it shows.

I've had a similar ride. I expected some extreme votes with my entry but it seems to break down to morning/afternoon vs night folks with the night folks not liking it too much.

Bloody hell!
I was sitting at a 6.1 earlier today now with a string of 4's and 5's I am sitting at:

I certainly hoped to overcome the pet-centric biased and worked hard to make the composition visually appealing. But I am begining to think that the current string of votes are reflecting that pet-centric biased I had hoped to overcome. Of course that is just a guess. If one is going to vote a 4 at least tell me what is unappealing to you. Yes, I know I am not the only one in this boat. But Argh! |

HaHa. Whenever I've met a Jack Russell, I've felt as if this dog was, in a former life, a basketball and hadn't quite made the change-over. |
