Ummmm, Deb? What you smokin' over there in Deutchland, girl? Your photos are most assuredly NOT boring!

There were only 29 votes so I'm trying to control myself. Even if it falls back down, it was cool just seeing it once.

Damn! Okay, I guess I deserve that...off to share my infinite wisdom :p

Thank you, my dear!! And I really am trying to give up smoking. Not only is it bad for you, but I only smoke outside and it's a wee bit colder here than it is in Texas....

Maybe I'll take up drinking... I hear that keeps you warmer.

Oh, and after two hours and change, I made my way through 23% of the Fences challenge. Tomorrow night is Fireworks, then Friday I'll tackle Fences for a bit more (I like fences in general). Sadly, unless a miracle* occurs, I probably won't get to vote in Free Study.

*Miracle being defined as DSL...

Any chance of a space on a team?

Hello and welcome Jackson NikonJeb,

Team Entropy has an opening if you are interested. I suck so bad I forgot what the Team Suck initiation process is if I ever knew it.

Something like enter challenges and share the bliss.

When our fearless leader posthumous appears he can fill you in.

mmmm... i just rechecked your profile just in case i had been thinking of someone else but it turns out that you're definately not boring.

i, on the other hand, am boring according to an incredibly rude comment about my centered shot. of course, the person who made the comment doesn't actually have any challenges under his belt, a camera listed or a membership but i feel i shouldn't hold this against him.

You're in luck. The initiation process has been drastically reduced due to an Internet crackdown at the office. You are now in Team Entropy as soon as I edit the top post.

Yes, you heard me. My place of work is actually running reports on which employees go to which Websites. Humbug. Luckily, I'm in IT so I got the scoop fairly early.

And Deb, you are not boring. Okay, sometimes you take pictures of ordinary things, but sometimes you make ordinary things extraordinary. What more could one ask for? :)

What do people expect from center compositons? Excitement?

I think there are a few people here who enjoy making other photographers feel bad just for the fun of it. It's only natural - with a pool of people this big, you're going to get a couple like that. Luckily, most people are helpful and positive - exactly why I love Team Suck!

That's what I like about this group of teams. They can tell you that your picture sucks in such a nice way, that you're actually happy. Believe me, some of mine suck bad.

Try not to let the scores get you down (hard for all of us, I know). I try to look at low scores as a way to improve on my technique - generally speaking, I learn a lot from comments And worry not, if you don't get comments during the challenge, Team Suck will provide them for free afterwords :-)

Thank you Catherine :)

I realised last night that if it wasn't for the support of Team Suck I wouldn't have entered this photo knowing that the voters would probably hate it. I would have entered the safer, more DPC friendly, boring one instead. Team Suck makes the low scores seem less important and gives me the courage to be creative and to hell with the consequences. I also know I can rely on you all to contructively tell me what's wrong with it after the challenge :D

For the courage to enter what I like...Team Suck I thank you!

Now for an update on my Fence, my score is up to 5.4 and I've been asked for validation...I'll take that as a compliment :D

Bob, one of my all time favorites on this SITE (DPC in total, not just among us Suckees) is Ghost Station. It was love at first sight for me :-) I'm really hoping you'll do a series with your abandoned train stations.

You know Catherine, what I did with ghost station is a lot of fun to do but most people hate it. I was really shocked when you selected it as one of your favorites. When I first saw that it had a favorite, I had to go see who the crazy person was that actually liked it.

That picture of the "Potter street station" was taken directly across the street from where "Ghost station" was. I keep going back there taking pictures hoping to get a little different perspective. That area is very run-down. The Potter street station was built in the 1880's and I really like taking pictures of old places.

Cool! What I do from here I really have no idea. I'm new enough that I have no idea what's requested of me other than a reasonably thick skin, a slightly warped sense of humor, and a desire to publicly humiliate myself with my abysmal talent......8>)

I can *DO* these things!!!!!

Specifics I need a clue with.....

Oh my goodness, Deb. Don't do that to yourself. You are so NOT boring! And neither is your photography. Plus, you are incredibly brave, energetic, capable, and witty.

Many thanks to quiet_observation for picking up on my plaintive plea for a spot.

This is duly recorded so y'all know who to blame! 8>)

I've got the zaflabout rendition pegged as one of my favorites.....I just realized through this thread who's responsible for this cool station. I love that building!!!!

Welcome aboard, NikonJeb. I've been checking out your portfolio, and it looks like you will be a good fit here. Your scores are sucking a bit, but your photos definitely do not suck. Perfect!

You folks so totally rock. :-)

Perhaps "boring" should be replaced with "ordinary", which as has been pointed out, isn't a bad thing. And welcome, NikonJeb - you won't find a better "team" out there. Oh, sure, you can also go play in the WPL, too, and I'm sure they have nice teams and such, but we're way more funner and have worse grammar.

Hope your headache gets better Christian. Me no like headaches and get 'em far too often.
